Season 82 Strategy

Legion FC started the season 82 campaign in League 2. I've adjusted my strategy a little bit over the past couple of seasons. The current strategy is to have top 5 finishes in League 2 with the understanding that I may make some mid season acquisitions if it looks like a promotion season is attainable. I don't think my squad is quite there, but we are making good progress. The benefit of my new strategy is the fans are increasing at a higher pace which will allow me to increase the quality of players on my squad. I don't think it will be long before I can realistically compete for League 1 without having to take a big loss in RBN.

Season 82 Results

We finished 5th in the table for season 82. We were one point out of 4th place. Our goal is top 5 finishes, so technically it was a finish within our strategy. It was a bit disappointing to finish at the bottom of that range; however, it was better than our 6th place finish last season.

We increased by 95k fans over the course of the season. That was a nice increase. It was about 5k less fans than we picked up last season. I would like to have seen that number increase. Even though we had a higher finish in the table, we had 2 less wins which is likely what caused us to earn less fans than last season. I'll take close to 100k fans per season though.

Season 82 Financial Results

We ended the season a little over 850,000 RBN in the positive. I am trying to break even, so that was a great result. We should probably sign a few players to increase our wins and get closer to even. Below were our income/expenses.

Revenue increased by over 550k RBN. Expenses decreased a little as well. I have some extra room for salaries this season. I'll need to find some quality players to improve the squad.

The year over year comparison shows my strategy is a bit out of balance. I earned more than I should have over the year. That is a good problem to have - but I'd like to improve my team a little more this season.

The owners got a bonus of .16 Hive as a reward for the season. That was .009 more than last season. I'd love to see that number go up as my squad improves.

Facilities Update

Stadium capacity is up to 93% due to the increase in fans. That was an increase of 13% from last season. It looks like the decision to increase stadium capacity after last season will pay off. It should be ready for the start of Season 84.

Squad

The season 83 squad should be solid defensively. Our academy continues to deliver great defensive prospects. The goalkeeping and attacker positions are also solid. We still need some depth and potentially a star or two in the midfield. I don't see many free agents out there that fit our needs, so I may wait a few matches to sign some players.

Season 83 Strategy

I am starting to get a little more aggressive with my strategy. I'm trying to break even financially and produce top 5 seasons. I'm hoping that will increase the rate of my fan growth and allow my roster to get better quickly. I'm starting to get tired of League 2 and would love to make a jump to League 1. I need to pick up a few midfielders to be as competitive as I would like. I'll keep an eye on the transfer market and free agent market. Other positions seem to be good enough to compete at a high level.
