Season 83 Strategy

Legion FC started the season 83 campaign in League 2. My strategy was to lurk at the top of the table and continue to build my team. The theory was more wins would bring more fans and decrease the time it takes to support a championship team. The ultimate goal was to get to League 1, but I thought I was a few seasons away.

Season 83 Results

Promotion!! That was quite the surprise. I knew I had a competitive team, but the last few seasons have ended with somewhat disappointing results. I didn't make many moves that I expected to catapult me to the top of the table. We ended 9 points clear of second place on top of just finishing in 1st. I was away from my team for several days; however, I set my lineups in advance. We were very lucky with injuries and suspensions staying at a minimum during the season.

We increased over 282k fans which is a big improvement over the 95k increase last season. It is amazing the difference after a championship season. Luckily, we just completed an expansion of the stadium.

Season 83 Financial Results

We ended the season with almost 500k in RBN. Below were our income/expenses.

Revenue increased by about 500k RBN. Expenses increased quite a bit. Salaries went up by 300k and the timing of scouting cost more than normal. The upgrades that completed also cost more. Overall, I'm very happy with the financial results of the season.

I was trying to break even, but I will certainly be happy with a small profit.

The owners got a bonus of .195 Hive as a reward for the season. Certainly the best end of season bonus since I've been playing. It was a nice reward for success.

Facilities Update

The stadium upgrade and surrounding upgrades finished just in time. Our stadium capacity was up to 98% when the stadium construction completed. I may need another update quick if fans keep increasing at the current pace. I'll continue to monitor facilities to identify when upgrades are necessary. Now that I'm in league 1, it may be worth building the training center up to help with home results.

Squad

The season 83 squad should be solid. I have no idea how competitive League 1 is, so I may have to make some acquisitions in the mid season if it isn't going well. Our defense should be strong again this year with a solid midfield and attacking core. We also have a goalkeeper with 99 goalkeeping skill.

Season 84 Strategy

Don't get relegated. It is that simple. I have no idea how competitive League 1 is, but I see some familiar names in the league from past seasons. I'm hoping that means our League 2 table was a tough one and I can survive the first season. I don't want to have to rely on winning a League 2 table to make it back into League 1. I'll open the pocketbooks for some acquisitions if it is needed. Any fans/income will be a bonus.
