Season 86 Strategy

Legion FC started the season 86 campaign in League 2. We were coming off a season of being relegated from League 1 to League 2. Our time in League 1 was short, but it is hard not to dream big after a taste of the stronger league. The strategy for season 86 was to have a top 3 finish. We still need to grow our facilities and fanbase to really prosper in League 1. We would love to get promoted, but the ultimate goal was to win a lot of matches and build our fanbase.

Season 86 Results

We finished 2nd in the table. It was a great result. We finished second to a team that was clearly the class of the league. The finish was fantastic given the rough stretch of injuries and suspensions we had around 2/3 of the way into the season. Below is a snip from our roster - several key players out at once.

Injury and Suspension Issues.png

BTCSam FC had a great season and clearly deserved the promotion. We were only 5 points back, but we were still 13 goals behind in goal differential. 24-3-3 is an excellent record.

Table.png

We increased almost 475k fans which is a big improvement over the 150k increase last season. It won't hurt to stay in League 2 for a few seasons to grow our fanbase and revenue. We need to fill up the new stadium expansion to pay for the salaries of players required to be competitive in League 1.

Season 86 Financial Results

We ended the season a little over 300,000 RBN in the positive. I am happy with the result. It would be a net loss if I didn't still have a League 1 sponsorship, so there is still some work to be done. Below were our income/expenses.

Expenses.png

Revenue decreased by about 1m RBN. Visitor and gameday revenue explains most of the decrease. It makes sense that we would have less fans in the stadium in League 2 than League 1. Some on pitch success could help mitigate the loss in income. Expenses decreased by almost 2m. Salaries decreased by about 3m; however, stadium expansions increased expenses by about 1m. We have a lot of room in the stadium to cover those expenses with new fans.

Year Over Year.png

The year over year shows a better financial result than last season. We are okay with a slight net income; however, it would be best to start building a higher net income to cover salary expense if we get promoted.

The owners got a bonus of .185 Hive as a reward for the season. It is certainly less than a League 1 bonus, but still helpful.

Facilities Update

We should be caught up on stadium expansions for now. The average utilization is now 55%, which is a big difference from the almost full stadiums we've had the past few seasons. Now we have some room to grow into the stadium and amenities.

-Stadium Capacity - Level 12
-Catering Capacity - Level 11
-Shop Capacity - Level 7
-Hotel - Level 10
-Parking Lot - Level 11
-Office Building - Level 8
-Building Yard - level 4
-Youth Academy - Level 13 - Currently upgrading
-Training Center - Level 3

We had two good prospects come through the youth academy at the end of the season. I think it will be imperative to have a fully leveled youth academy to survive in the higher leagues. Plus, we may get some extra revenue from selling players. The expenses will be high, but our revenue is increasing at a high enough pace to cover it.

Squad

The season 87 squad should be good. As discussed above, we got two good prospects. One is a 19 year old defender with an overall rating of 78. The other is a 19 year old midfielder with an overall rating of 73. Our defense and attacking groups are very strong. We may have to use some defenders and attackers to bolster our midfield.

Season 87 Strategy

The strategy for season 87 is the same as for season 86. A top 3 finish is ideal, with promotion being a bonus. Otherwise, we will continue to win games and build our fanbase for more revenue to build our squad. Hopefully, we can continue to find some young players to bolster our midfield.
