The day began, as the spirit desires, with a ride on the bicycle, toward the early light that wrapped the world in gentle silence. In such motion, the mind found its clarity, the body its awakening. Soon after, I entered the house of business, where duty and endeavor governed the hours. But as the sun continued its arc, I returned home, where in familiar surroundings the work was carried on—quietly and with focus.
