My field experience

Hello, all my Hivers friends, and welcome back!

It's been a while since we've seen each other due to work.

Unfortunately, it's not a great time, work-wise, and all my energy is going towards the company...but without seeing the results at the end of the month, alas.

Because of my clients, because of my excessive confidence...

In fact, I'm trying every way I can to change course somehow...but that's another topic.

On Saturday evening, since it was the weekend I had my daughter, since my mother (who goes to Mass every Saturday afternoon) wanted to go, and since it was 6 km from my house, I decided to pop over to Tor Vergata, where the 2025 Youth Jubilee was taking place.

Not so much for my own devotion, but to make my daughter say in 25 years, "I was there that day!"... it was still a global event.

I know the area like the back of my hand; in addition to passing by at least twice a day, I went to university in Tor Vergata, and since they opened that area 20 years ago, it's been the route I've always taken to get home when I stayed with my parents.

I've created a little map to better explain my experience.

I knew about the various road closures, so I decided to park at the red dot on the map, near that Carrefour Market, about 1.5 km from the famous Calatrava Sail.

Once parked, we walked along the black path for about 1 km to the blue dot, the rear entrance to Calatrava's Sail, crossing the brightly lit bridge in the photo.

Once we arrived, we were about to enter, but we were stopped by workers who told us that that entrance was reserved for workers and that the entrance to the event was on Via dell'Archiginnasio (the purple dot on the map).

It was another 1.9 km walk to get there, but I knew there was a street halfway that leads to Via dell'Archiginnasio, so we set off.

When we reached this street, we were told it was closed and only accessible to workers... so, having reached that point, we decided to continue on to Via dell'Archiginnasio.

Basically, the route from that street to 200 meters from the entrance was guarded by stewards who were showing us the way.

When we finally reached Via dell'Archiginnasio, I thought, "Come on, we'll walk this mile and a half and get to the Vela"...what for?!

Just twenty steps away and a horde of policemen "This is the exit, the entrance is over there!"

I mean, the road is closed to traffic. If I went straight along the red arrow, I'd get to my destination in 20 minutes. Instead, I have to go through fields toward the blue arrow because the only way to exit is through the red arrow?!?!?!

Bah....I'm getting more and more perplexed.

We head toward the blue arrow, toward the entrance, and finally reach the turnstiles.

It was definitely a beautiful sight, a lovely atmosphere, and a crowd of people.

After walking for 3km, my daughter started to get confused... and so did I, because I couldn't wrap my head around the situation.

We spoke to the guys at the turnstiles and asked how to get to the Vela because there were some of my mother's friends we wanted to meet. They were outside the turnstiles, just outside the event, so we asked if they'd let us in from there.

They didn't know and weren't sure.

We would have had to go in, walk about 1.5km to get to the Vela, not knowing if they'd let us out. If they didn't, walk another 1.5km to get out the way we'd entered, and then walk another 3km back to the car, exhausted, at night...

Guess what we decided to do?

Exactly, go straight back to the car!

In the end, we called my mother's friends and discovered that where they were, they only let us out.

Now, I understand that it's the Jubilee of Young People and they don't get tired walking, but you closed off 50 hectares of land, you predicted a million people would attend, you didn't provide a nearby parking lot, and you designed a single entrance and two opposite exits, while permanently controlling other entrances and some routes?!?!

I wouldn't have even let an organization like that sit at the negotiating table...

In 25 years, next year, I don't hope to be there... if only because I'm supposed to be close to retirement... 😂😂😂

La mia esperienza sul campo

Salve a tutti amici Hivers e ben ritrovati!

E' da un bel po' che non ci si vede causa lavoro.

Purtroppo non è un bel momento, lavorativamente parlando, e tutte le energie se ne stanno andando per l'azienda...ma senza vedere i frutti a fine mese, ahimè.

Complici i clienti, complice la mia eccessiva fiducia...

Sto infatti cercando in tutti i modi di cambiare rotta in qualche modo...ma questo è un altro argomento.

Sabato sera, visto che era il weekend in cui avevo mia figlia, visto che mia madre (che va tutti i sabato pomeriggio a messa) voleva andarci e visto che ce l'avevo a 6km da casa, ho deciso di fare un salto a Tor Vergata, dove aveva luogo il Giubileo dei giovani 2025.

Non tanto per la mia devozione, quanto per far dire a mia figlia tra 25 anni "Io quel giorno ci sono stata!"...era comunque un evento mondiale.

Conosco la zona come le mie tasche, oltre a passarci almeno 2 volte al giorno, sono andato all'università a Tor Vergata e da quando hanno aperto quella zona 20 anni fa, è la strada che ho sempre fatto per tornare a casa quando stavo a casa dai miei.

Vi ho creato una piccola mappa per raccontarvi meglio la mia esperienza.

Sapevo delle diverse chiusure stradali, quindi decido di parcheggiare nel punto rosso sulla mappa, vicino a quel Carrefour Market, a circa 1,5km dalla famosa Vela di Calatrava.

Una volta parcheggiato ci dirigiamo a piedi lungo il tragitto nero per circa 1km fino al punto blu, entrata posteriore della Vela di Calatrava, percorrendo il luminoso ponte della foto.

Una volta arrivati, ci accingiamo ad entrare, ma veniamo fermati da addetti ai lavori che ci dicono che quell'entrata è riservata a lavoratori e che l'ingresso all'evento era in via dell'Archiginnasio (il punto viola sulla mappa).

Per raggiungerla ci vogliono altri 1,9km a piedi, ma so che a metà c'è una via che porta su via dell'Archiginnasio, quindi ci incamminiamo.

Arrivati a questa via, ci sentiamo dire che è chiusa e che è percorribile solamente dagli addetti ai lavori...quindi, ormai arrivati a quel punto, decidiamo di proseguire fino a via dell'Archiginnasio.

Praticamente il percorso da quella via fino a 200 metri dall'entrata era piantonata da steward che indicavano la strada.

Arrivati finalmente su via dell'Archiginnasio, penso "Daje, mo se famo sto chilometro e mezzo di strada e arriviamo alla Vela"...ma de che?!

Appena una ventina di passi e un'orda di poliziotti "Questa è l'uscita, l'entrata è per di là!"

Cioè, strada chiusa al traffico, se andassi dritto per la freccia rossa arriverei in 20 minuti a destinazione, invece devo andare per campi verso la freccia celeste perchè per la strada indicata dalla freccia rossa si può soltanto uscire?!?!?!

Bah....rimango sempre più perplesso.

Andiamo verso la freccia celeste, verso l'entrata e finalmente arriviamo ai tornelli.

Un bel colpo d'occhio senza dubbio, una bella atmosfera e una marea di persone.

Mia figlia dopo 3km di cammino ha iniziato a stranirsi...e io prima di lei perchè non riuscivo a capacitarmi della situazione.

Parliamo con i ragazzi ai tornelli e chiediamo come arrivare alla Vela perchè là c'erano degli amici di mia madre che avremmo voluto raggiungere. Loro erano fuori dai tornelli, quindi appena fuori l'evento e chiediamo allora se poi da là ci fanno entrare.

Non lo sanno e non ne sono sicuri.

Saremmo dovuti entrare, fare circa 1,5km per arrivare alla Vela per non sapere se ci avrebbero fatto uscire e se non ci avessero fatto uscire fare di nuovo 1,5km per uscire da dove eravamo entrati e poi fare altri 3km per tornare alla macchina, distrutti, di notte...

Indovinate cosa abbiamo deciso di fare?

Esatto, tornare alla macchina direttamente!

Alla fine abbiamo chiamato gli amici di mia madre e abbiamo scoperto che là dove erano loro facevano solamente uscire.

Mo, io capisco che è il Giubileo dei giovani e quelli non si stancano a camminare, ma tu hai chiuso 50 ettari di area, hai previsto l'affluenza di 1 milione di persone, non hai previsto un parcheggio nelle vicinanze e hai progettato un'unica entrata e 2 uscite opposte, presidiando in pianta stabile comunque altri ingressi e alcuni percorsi?!?!

Io un'organizzazione del genere non l'avrei manco fatta sedere al tavolo delle trattative.....

Tra 25 anni, al prossimo, non spero di esserci...se non altro perchè dovrei essere vicino alla pensione... 😂😂😂
