Fisty Cuffs at Stamford Bridge As Spurs Salvage a Draw.

There was never much love lost between Spurs and Chelsea. I have always hated them the most (no offence @arsenal4life but I just hate their very existance as a football club. Chelsea were indeed small time until a wealthy billionaire came in and changed their fortunes and they have been winning all around them and sacking managers every year since then, Right now they are going through the most turbulent few months of their existances as Abramovich is now gone out of the club with Bruce Buck, Peter Cech are out the door. There is a new chief in town by the name of Todd Boehly who is basically an American version of Roman Abramovich and he likes to get involved. He rang his manager Thomas Tuchel around signing Ronaldo lately seeing the major commercial perks in signing the 5 time Balon D'or winner but Tuchel declined the generous offer as Ronaldo would not fit in to what he was trying to do and they already struggled with Lukaku in the team so he was not inclined to go back there. With a poor pre season and an OK first game Chelsea had a point to prove against the up and coming Spurs team that Conte has changed into a goal machine.
Conte made sure in his press conferences to make sure that the world knew that Chelsea are still a force to be reckoned with. Don't forget that Spurs lost to Chelsea four miserable times last year. But now Conte had new players and a well drilled team on his hands. An entirely different proposition.
Disaster happened in the @blanchy household before the game as I forgot to pay my dodgy app subscription. It has to be paid in crypto and I had no time to go through the various steps and 2FA to update my account so I ran out the door of the house and ran to the nearest watering hole missing the first ten minutes of the match. My Spurs supporter cousin who was already in the pub told me that Kane had two chances so far which was positive. From the moment I sat on the bar stool and had a nice creamy pint in front of me (My wife has suspicions that I did pay my subscription after all) that Chelsea took control of the game. Their new centre half Koubally who looks like an ideal replacement for that shithousery Ruddiger vollied at the each of the box to make it 1 nil to Chelsea. It did not look like we were going to reply until Conte took Sessegnon off and left 4 at the back. Ben Davies pushed wide on the left and Richarlison got his premier League debut. It is from there that Spurs kicked on and Hojljberg got the equalizer in the 66th minute. There were calls from the Chelsea bench over a foul that Bentancur made on Reece James but in fairness to the Uruguayan he got a touch on the ball and the goal stood. Conte decided it would be good to celebrate in Tuchels face so there was a melee at the touchline and the two managers had to be separated which made things awful entertaining. Any interesting fact from the game was that not one Spurs player was even booked on Sunday which I find hilarious.

Chelsea battled back and the 4 at the back left holes in our defence. Reece James got Chelsea's second and Tuchel ran up the line like gone off scallion with a blue cap and got in Contes face once again.
The referees have been told to let minor aggressive tackles off recently in preparation for the world cup. Players are no longer going down like they have been taken out by a sniper which I see as a positive approach to the divers. But in fairness to Chelsea , Anthony Taylor left a few tackles slide. There was a huge amount of added time at the end. Peresic stepped up to take a corner and Spurs defender Romero nearly took Cuccurala's hair off his head but the referee left it off and so the ball went out for another corner. Kane and Richy went up for the head and Kane got a touch. Kane who had been missing the whole game finally turned up with the winner. Spurs celebrated wildly and the game finished 2-2. On the final whistle Tuchel and Conte went at it again on the handshake. Tuchel did not leave go of Contes hand and there was another melee. Spurs grabbed a point from nowhere and remain unbeaten with Wolves next week.

This time last year Spurs would have lost that but the bench won it for us today. Spurs have a squad now and options. To change from a wing back system to a 4 - 2 - 4 would never have happened last season. Peresic has a wise head on his shoulders and was constantly giving advice to the younger players during the game.
There was a piece in the Telegraph also around Spurs DOF Paratici. He made the team all wear suits to the games meaning that Spurs are here for business. He also upgraded the team bus so that the bus has a massive THFC on it. Paratici is not the most liked around the place as he spends his time looking at the details. He tells the doctors how to do their jobs and criticizes the clubs chefs. But do you know what. This guy was needed to bring standards up. He is meant to be a fiery workaholic. He has signed Bentancur , Kulu and Romero from Italy. Three great signings. Our new signing is a Udinese right wing back called Destiny Udogie who will go straight back on loan for the season. This is the norm in Italy and Paratici is doing this for Spurs. I look forward to be singing Lional Ritchie in a couple of years from now in the South Stand.

Meanwhile Spurs are in the process of getting rid of disasters Ndombele to Napoli and Los Celso was just confimred to Vilareal. The trail has gone cold with Harry Winks so I expect a deal on transfer deadline. Reguilon the same. Brighton are said to be interested. Once these 4 are gone then the wage bill will be freed up to bring in some more players. Some people are harping on on Twitter eondering why we didn't spend our £150 million yet but it is all about getting current players off the wage bill now. This will be done but it will take time for Don Paradici to cook.

Thats it from me for this week. Wolves next and there you will see the wholesale changes that Conte will make. We played so good against Southampton that players were undroppable. The Chelsea game was different. Many players disappointed including our best players so I expect Richarlison and Peresic to start next week.

If a player has hair like Sideshow Bob then he deserves to be taken down

it is fascinating how VAR and Refs in premier league can be that bad :D

Anthony Taylor would be running through the corn feels in some of our "village" leagues :)

I was cheering for a draw but was a bit down when you scored :)

Chelsea was much better until the change of formation and Richarlison getting in.

I expected Tottenham to beat Chelsea but it was an incredible draw, a nice game by the way, Conté's team was very effective.

As much as I don't like Chelsea, I think they were robbed of the winning there and it felt good seeing that lot suffer😋😋

Kudos to Spurs, I admire the grit. The fact that they played badly but still grabbed a point is the stuff of champions

Kane who had been missing the whole game finally turned up with the winner

This statement says it all. Kudos to spurs and the Man of the match Anthony Taylor.

It was a good game to watch, and the managers made it more fun

Hi sir,
Nice elaborate reporting. Good times are here for Spurs.

I expected this stuff from Perisic,I had been looking out for him to start even. Hmmn Richarlison, well hopefully he starts next week. If he does,I'm quite sure he'll be subbed.

I told you that the difference in playtime between Jesus and Richarlison will be huge. I told you it's a risky move for him, if he wants to hold unto a starting spot in Brazil.

Cheers

We will see come the end of the season. Richarlison will be a success. Jesus misses too many one on ones. He needs 6 chances to score 1. Not like Richy. Doesn't he have Jesus's place in the Brazil team??
I will write an elaborate post about him soon. You will love it!
There are 5 substitutions now. The odds on getting subbed are high these days. Maybe Messi and Kane are the only ones safe.

The jury is still out on Richarlison's conversion rate. One of your fellow Tottenham faithful said so too,you saw it.
We watch things as the season unfolds.

Cheers man
