Last Man Standing Week 2 , Results and Selections Open for Week 3

Results Week 2

And we go from 24 to 13. Nearly half the field gone again this week. There were some major upsets this week, the biggest one being Liverpool's draw with Palace.

I was shouting from the rooftop around if Man City lose then it would be a very very short competition. I also said that picking the strong teams at the start will get you in trouble down the line. The early game on Saturday was Aston Villa versus Everton. It was Gerrard versus Lampard. Both Goliaths in their day but management is a whole different ball game. @amirtheawesome1 @chrisbetcoin and @temitopeomojuwa had Villa and it was a very close game. I love being on Twitter during games for a type of fanzone atmosphere but I have to say I spent most of my time in the @hivefpl discord channel laughing at @amirtheawesome have a nervous breakdown when Everton started to play around the 87th minute. Thankfully Everton did not equalise which meant our three contestants above were through to the next round early.
The next game was Man City and 8 of the contestants went strong and were right to do so. City hammered Bournemouth in a type of training ground warm up so this sees the following contestants through to the next round.

@wolfgangsport
@ablaze
@cryptoandcoffee
@ogeewitty
@gone-hive
@talesfrmthecrypt
@gingerup

Arsenal also continued their 100% start to the season with Jesus scoring 2 screamers to secure a win over Leicester. @belemo is on cloud nine right now with the special one Arteta finally getting a team together after spending more than any other team in the past 3 seasons.

@emeka4 is through. I never received a team from @dest331 so Arsenal were auto selected for him or her and they got through. Thems are the rules.

The surprise of the weekend was West Ham getting beat by Nottingham Forest. This one was an upset and it sees some strong contestants getting knocked out of the Last Man Standing. They say never trust a London team if it is not Spurs.
The following players were knocked out for picking West Ham

Myself
@kenechukwu97
@kraken99
@belemo

It's a bitter pill to swallow but my arch nemesis @belemo is knocked out as well so every cloud...
My master plan was indeed to win this so I can award the prize to myself but alas , I'm gonna have to save up now.

@shamzy and @thoth442 were also knocked out having picked Newcastle and Leeds.

@danokoroafor selected the hotly tipped relegation candidates Manchester United. After watching them against Brighton two weeks ago and now Brentford they are on a slippery slope. @danokoroafor has been eliminated.

Finally
@erikah , @nathen007 @tengolotodo picked Liverpool which was the final game on the Monday night. Unfortunately another upset ensued and the 3 contestants have been eliminated. You never know with Last Man Standing about how things are going to go.
Thanks for playing guys.

Fixture List Week 3

So I am now taking the picks for week 3 from the 13 people who got through. I shall call the remaining "The 13." Below is the fixture list. It will start to get harder for you all this week unless you are @chrisbetcoin and @amirtheawesome1 who have chosen smaller teams to this point. Playing a blinder lads. Please see below the fixture list for week 3. I will be taking selections up until Friday night.
If you do not come back to me by then the first team that the contestant has not selected yet will be selected in alphabetical order

Some nice easy ones there in fairness. Still all to play for here in Last Man Standing. With half the field depleted yet again we go again next week. Well done and best of luck in week 3.

It's getting tougher already. Glad I pushed through. I will go with Tottenham for this round. Let me know my fate early since it's early kick off. 😂

I will like to pay the bribe hive to continue playing.

On that note, for this game week, I select Leicester City

I am on the phone to the revenue as we speak showing the 1 Hive bribe you sent me. Expect sirens at your door any minute you (Arsenal) fiend.untitled.gif. I will hold the bribe in escrow until a full investigation is made by @amirtheawesome1

My investigation proved that @belemo tried to break the game's second amendment and we all know how you shouldn't mess with the second amendment.

Lol... That's a real red sheet up there. Haha. The bloodbath that came with gameweek 2 is unreal. Haha.

GoodLuck to those still in the game. We will watch from the sidelines like Darwin Nunez 😂

I want to keep the traditions and predict Spurs for the upcoming round but I also don't want to waste 2 picks of the top 6 (Well, top 5 since there's no way I am picking United). I will come back on Friday to make a decision, if not, I will take Spurs over the Wolves.

Ok I will provisionally put you down for the mighty Spurs. If I don't hear back from you then I know you have kept with your great choice.

That is how I got knocked out. I think you should consider us whose team had draw.
I choose Arsenal for next week🤦🏿‍♂️

Shamzy Last Man Standing is for winners not for drawers. If you wanted to get through that bad you should have selected a top 6 team. You are eliminated from the competition so you do not have a selection next week!!
Take your beating gracefully. untitled.gif

You forgot me, I was eliminated thanks to westham who were really poor.

I was really thinking I would go farther. Goodluck to the remaining participants.

I’m going to go for the @belemo tactic of selecting your rival. Let’s have Arsenal to win

I've a funny feeling that Bournemouth will get a result. Its just all going too well for Arsenal.

It's funny how Arsenal fans who have been eliminated from the competition stay and lurk around. I suppose its a Tuesday / Wednesday night thing. Not in champions league and all that.

The real test will be when they go behind in a match. They won just 4 points from losing positions last season (15 games)

Weak mentality. You watch Tierney on All or Nothing and you can see the fragility.

Very proud to be part of "the 13" :D (altough you did not mention me :( )

I was thiking about Liverpool as they have not won the first games, but against ManU this will get interesting and its a very heated vote!

I am going with my guts again and chose the Spurs for this weekend. I really hope your team does not let me down! :D

Ah @ga38jem you were never in doubt. You didn't need a mention. Yeah youbare right to stay away from Utd Liverpool although I do think Liverpool will hammer them but you never know in big rivalries

Time to shake things up and not pick a favorite for this week. I may change my mind so pencil me in for Leicester. Lets hope for another bloodbath this weekend with the favorites drawing their games. City at Newcastle is not a guarantee and neither is Spurs vs Wolves.

Yeah the games will start getting tricky now a few games in. Noone is safe. I will put you down for Leicester unless you say otherwise before the deadline.

Hello senior,
Someone said Pep is turning the EPL into another farmers league.

I know I've been really cautious eventhough I would have loved to take more risks. Well,it's my first time,so I continue that way.

IT'S TOTTENHAM FOR ME THIS WEEK.

You will have a tough 4th and 5th round with 3 out of the top 4 picked. Tottenham it is . Best of luck buddy. Spurs beat pep twice last year by the way. They will have competition if its not from Liverpool

It all depends on the pairings. I still have a Chelsea and Arsenal in my war-chest. Also there are still other teams that one can safely pick to win against certain oppositions.

It's not like PSG doesn't loose in France or it's not like Arsenal didn't beat Chelsea twice in the EPL last season- it's still called the farmers league and it's Chelsea in the CL(not Arsenal) respectively. Tottenham has to prove it not just against City.

Don't take the farmers league thing too seriously though, we all know it's been no stroll in the park for City.

So yep,Tot my pick this week.
Thanks man

So 8 selections or provisional selections are in. Still waiting on 5 contestants to make their final selections for week 3.
@ablaze
@gone-hive
@dest331
@chrisbetcoin
@temitopeomojuwa

If you do not make your selections then the first team in alphabethical order that was not selected previously will be selected for you. Take @dest331 for example in week 2. He did not make a selection so he was allocated Arsenal and then won so he preceded to the next round. He will be allocated Aston Villa next if he/she does not select a team for this week.

Oh just seeing the general page now. I thought I was the only one; hardly anyone taking risks here.
I'm in good company.😊

i will pick Leicester vs Southampton game
The winner is likely to be Leicester,
my analysis suggest Over 2.5 goals in this match,
and a Yes for both teams to score.
I might be tempted to predict the score and
Statistics predict a full time result of 3:1.
that's all folks

Richarlison on da bench again. Even Conte is schooling a lot of Spurs' fans now. He will rotate,but not the way a lot of Spurs fans were thinking,eg many thought that because it was a poor game for Son the last time,then he be benched for the Brazilian today.

With all due respect to Richarlison, there are certain risks Conte is not prepared to take just yet, he wants his victories so dearly.

Well he was integral in the victory today. Don't forget it takes time to.learn the Conte way. He will get his chances with the games coming up

"Don't forget"?
Not me,that should go to a lot of Spurs fans who need not to forget who Conte is.
Perisic also came in from the bench last time out, but he started today for reasons I think you should know.

Not surprised Richarlison is "integral" today,one doesn't need to be a prophet to expect that from him.
I keep watching based on our discourse sometime back.

Now time for the Gunners to do same to Bournemouth with a certain Gabriel Jesus a sure starter.😁
🏃‍♂️

Peresic was in a Conte system at Inter so he knows the integral systems. Richy wasn't. Also its easy to drop Sessengnon for him where Son who was our top scorer last season still has credit in the bank. I'd expect Richy to start against Forest

Bingo! I knew you know why Perisic started. Also why I said "..there are certain risks Conte is not prepared to take just yet.."

No p,we dey here(we are following things).

Cheers man and congrats to your Spurs.
