Let’s talk about the art of the “rest day.” Not the Netflix-and-couch kind, but the kind that involves a 3-hour drive through rolling Belgian hills, a caffeine-fueled shopping mission in Luxembourg, and a suspiciously athletic amount of mall walking.
Today, I logged 5,000 steps. None from a workout, trail, or scenic stroll. Nope—every step came from zigzagging across a parking lot while my car sipped electrons, sprinting through store aisles on a mission for coffee and discount sneakers, and loading up like I was prepping for a desert trek.
But here’s the real gem: the drive. Wide skies. Trees that looked like Bob Ross painted them. A road that begged for windows down and music up. Even without lacing up my walking shoes, I felt recharged—mentally and, well, literally.
Lesson? Not every fitness journey needs sweat and dirt. Sometimes, it’s about the scenic route, the spontaneous photo, and yes… a T-shirt that says “T-SHIRT.” 🏞️☕👟
