On the bass I’m pretty good they say, I also teach in bass guitar. As for the guitar, I’m just ok. But that’s also mostly due to timing constraints.

It sure is !INDEED ! And once you have reached a certain level of playing, which doesn’t need to be that high even, it starts being very relaxing to play. But that is after you’ve hardened your fingers and all 😂

That reminds me of the stages of learning something: unconscious incompetence (you don't know that you don't know), conscious incompetence (you know that you don't know), conscious competence (you know that you know), and then unconscious competence (you don't know that you know - you've internalized it and do it without thought, body memory).
