Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 12: Good news, Bad news

Fantasy Football (1).png

Let's start with the bad news. I had a pretty rough weekend this past weekend and I ended up losing my match up against my brother in law. That loss leaves me sitting in fifth place in our league. The good news is, over Thanksgiving break it was decided to expand the playoffs from four teams to six teams. That means despite my current losing streak, I still have a chance of making it into the playoffs.

@mrsbozz had a stroke of luck and won her contest last year, so she is sitting easily in 4th place right above me. I think there was one other time that her and I both made it to the playoffs. Unfortunately, we had to go head to head in the first round, so it really hurt our chances of making it to the finals.

Hopefully this year will be different if we end up both making it again.

As you can see, I actually didn't have that bad of a score this past week. 106.44 is likely enough to get your the win most weeks. In fact, I had a higher score than seven of the twelve teams in our league last weekend. Unfortunately, my opponent had a higher score and so my decent score doesn't mean a thing...

The 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place slots in our league all have the same record of 6-6. If I don't get a win here soon I am going to get pushed out of the running for the playoffs.

Let's take a look at the point breakdown and see where it went wrong for me.

Not surprising that the majority of the blame lays at the feet of Tom Brady. I can't get over how horrible he has been. The sad thing is, I knew coming in that this was likely going to be the case, but I really couldn't do anything about it. With the league being so big now and us having so many slots on our rosters, there are literally no viable alternatives to pick up for your team.

It's horrible.

Campbell and Davis didn't help my case either both putting up less than 5 points. When you expect wide receivers to give you at least 15 to 20 points, it can be a huge blow when they can't even manage to score 5.

Thankfully, Higgins and my running backs carried the load, but it still wasn't enough to give me the win.

Even the late pick up Moreau at tight end was acceptable with just over 9 points. Gano even surprised giving me a healthy 11 points with his foot. Which is good because you might remember last week he gave me zero points.

Finally, I am a bit disappointed with the Denver defense only getting me 2 points. They seem to be on a slide and I might need to make a change there before the playoffs.

As you can see, even my bench wouldn't have helped me that much. Graoppolo is not really a suitable replacement for Brady putting up five fewer points. The good news is, Tampa Bay has lost enough games that they might be on the edge of making the playoffs. If they have a sense of urgency, they might need to start doing a little better.

We can hope right?

Other than that, my bench players were pretty sad. I might need to just drop the dead weight and start over from scratch going into the final month of play here. I can't do much worse than I have been doing thus far right?

I definitely think there is going to be some house cleaning coming up. Mark my words.

This week I play one of my sister in laws. I am projected to win, but I expect she will make some changes to close that gap. I never really trust the projections anyways.

Wish me luck!

Tom Brady

He still plays? Maybe I am thinking of another one, I thought that he was not so young shall we say!

He's over 40. Probably pretty close to my age. Maybe a little younger. He retired and then he came back. He should have just stayed out!
