Hail to the Champ

As I said the other day, it feels like we just started the NCAA basketball season and now after the contest last night we have reached the culmination of the season.

It didn't go the way I planned or hoped, but last night we had a great game between two really good teams who fought tooth and nail to make their way to this point.

I honestly don't know what I am going to do with all my free time now that college basketball is over. I will likely just focus even harder on my nieces softball games and perhaps a bit of baseball.

I had every intention of sitting at a bar (or more precisely sportsbook) last night and watching the game. Then I realized the game didn't actually start until 9:30 PM at night. Of course I was on vacation, so I could have stayed up that late, but I also had just driven 6 hours earlier that day and keeping my eyes open was a contest in itself.

Instead, @mrsbozz and I hung out in a pretty impressive hotel suite and watched the game on a big screen TV that I could only hope to have in my house one day.

I had a feeling that it might be a pretty one sided contest and I ended up being right.

We stayed up until halftime and then we ended up going to bed. After watching San Diego State fall behind early and then come back with an epic win I was thinking they might have a chance against UConn.

When I woke up this morning and checked the score, it was pretty apparent those late game heroics didn't come across into the game last night.

UConn was a just a little too go to be taken down by the Aztecs. UConn is no stranger to the finals. They have been here several times in the past. Then they had a bit of a hiatus before they clawed their way into it this year.

There were a good deal of people who saw this coming, but I don't think anyone could have assumed it would happen quite the way it did.

How did your bracket do this year?

Hopefully it did better than mine.

I know for a fact I can't wait until next year to see if we have a lot more crazy in store!
