Inconceiveable!
Believe it or not, we are just about a month away from football season starting back up. American football that is. I am honestly struggling to wrap my head around it. I got an email the other day from Yahoo Fantasy Leagues letting me know that I need to renew my league. I'm honestly not even sure if we are going to do it again this year. I need to get a group text send out to the inlaws to see if they even want to participate.
If they do, I also need to make the decision about whether or not I am going to use AI to manage my team this year or not. There are a lot of things to consider, but I guess it really isn't worth stressing over until I know if everyone even wants to play this year.
My one brother in law has been pushing for a manual draft for quite some time now, but I honestly don't know how we would make all of that work. There are just too many people at different places in their lives, that I am not sure we would be able to hold an effective draft to begin with.
It actually kind of feels like people might be at the point where we just let it go, but again, I have to check first to see. Aside from that, with the fantasy season looming large, that also means the NFL season is right around the corner.
Plus, week 0 of the college season starts on August 23rd with a game between Iowa State and Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland.
I'm really looking forward to this football season. I hope that the Detroit Lions can pick up where they left off last year and have some more success. Ideally, they made some good moves in the off season via the draft that they can plug some of the holes that popped up last season. The key point will be for them to stay healthy or at the very least have players they can move into those positions when injuries happen. Because injuries will happen.
On the college side of things, Michigan State will be moving into their second season with a new head coach and they really need to look back on the things that didn't work last year so they can do better this year.
There is a small chance we might make it to a preseason game which would be kind of cool because I have never been to a game in Spartan Stadium before. I'm still waiting to find out the final details on that.
Ready or not, football is right around the corner!
