Lady Dragon Have a Tough Weekend
The Tiffin Dragons Women's Softball team had a pair of games this past weekend as they opened their home season. Unfortunately for @mrsbozz and I, the games on Sunday were not streamed the way we hoped they would be. The games on Saturday were, but they were some tough outings against Northwood University which is just down the road from where we live.
Northwood University is known for it's business program and every year the business students put on an International Auto show. It's quite impressive if you ever get the chance to see it.
I've also been to Northwood for a kite festival (you read that right), and more recently for a football camp that my nephews attended which was sponsored by the Detroit Lions.
Last year Tiffin had some good luck against Northwood, but it just wasn't to be this year.
They dropped the first game with a score of 1 to 14 and then the second game they lost 3 to 6. My niece seemed to be a bit out of her rhythm again in terms of batting, but I am sure she will find it. The good news is she is still getting a lot of playing time despite that fact. I was looking at the stats for the other players on the team and it's pretty obvious she isn't the only one struggling, so I find some solace in that.
There next two games ere against Saginaw Valley State University which is also just down the road and it is @mrsbozz and I's alma matter. We both got our bachelor degrees from there and it is a really great school.
I think it's pretty cool that these local schools are playing my nieces school all the way down in Ohio. Now next year their games will be back up here and we will hopefully get to attend them.
In the second double header they won the first game 4 to 3, but then they lost the second game 2 to 9. it was a bit colder than the weather they played in down in Florida, so that might have been part of it.
They are back in action again tomorrow against Wayne State University which is another one of @mrsbozz's alma matters. She got her masters degree from there.
