Lions doing what Detroit Lions do.

I apologize in advance, but this is going to be a fairly short post today. Now that we are in "wait" mode for the college bowl games, there isn't as much to talk about on the weekends. I know there is still NFL football going on, but being a Lions fan... there isn't much to talk about.

There was one "college" game this weekend that happens pretty much every year. It is the annual Army/Navy game and although we don't religiously watch it, we do often talk about it in the Bozz household. My father was in the Navy and @mrsbozz's father was in the Army, so there is always a bit of rivalry there.

Navy came out on top this year, as has been the case through most of the 2000's with the exception of three years from 2016 to 2018 and last year.

I am pretty happy about that. The coach from the Navy teams seems to be a pretty cool guy. I noticed he wasn't wearing his ceremonial Lei through the game this year.

As I said, I didn't watch much NFL football this weekend. I did start to watch the Kansas City game since Mahomes is my fantasy quarterback. It was nice to see him doing so well. I wanted to watch the Rams game last night, but I was stuck in a school board meeting for what seemed like forever listening to parent comments about all manner of pointless things (don't even ask!).

In fact, after I pretty much knew how the Kansas City game was going to go, I ended up streaming the latest episode of The Wheel of Time and I found that more enjoyable than the dumpster fire that was about to greet me at 4:00 PM when the Lions started playing.

I was hoping they would have some momentum from their last minute heroics over the Vikings last weekend, but alas, that wasn't to be. They got totally smeared by the Broncos on Sunday. It is just kind of unbelieveable how bad they are. I can't even count the number of times they had turnovers or all out miscues at the most inoportune moments. I am honestly past blaming the officals at this point. I think even if the officials tried to help the Lions win, they would still end up losing. That is just how bad they are.

There was a point last weekend when I was going to turn off the TV and just be done watching the Lions forever. I don't want to be one of those fair-weather fans, but there gets to be a point where you just can't take the punishment anymore.

Then they won.

So I gave them another shot this weekend.

Boy was that a mistake. I am almost to the point where they just need to clean house and start fresh with a whole new team. Even though they have already kind of done that to a degree. Goff needs to go. That much is clear. They need a quarterback who can run, because it is pretty clear the offensive line can't protect him.

Having a player who can think on their toes and get things done even when their team mates totally screw the pooch is exactly what we need. It's gotta be a one man show, because pretty much everyone else isn't pulling their weight.

SWift could be awesome, but he is injured and who knows what the rest of the season holds for him. He was the one bright light as far as I was concerened this year.

As far as the Rams, that win this week over Arizona should put them in a pretty decent place. I think they were right behind them in their division.

It looks like they still are and it could be a mad dash to the finish with only a couple weeks left in the regular season.

I recently saw an episode of "Family Guy" and thought of you. Brian falls into a lion pit while he and Peter are trying to steal a turkey from the zoo and Brian finds himself face to face with some Lions and he says "oh hey guys, shouldn't you be losing at football this weekend?"

Haha, that is really funny. I don't typically watch that show, but I have seen it from time to time and it is quite funny. I'll never say Wheat Thins the same way ever again thanks to that show.
