NCAA Men's Top 25 Recap 2/28/2022: Winner Winner!

I've gotta be honest, I don't have too much to be upset about after a full weekend of basketball. It was pretty awesome. Lot's of great games for sure.

My nieces won their game on Saturday to advance to the next round of the playoff's. They have already secured the confernce and division title. Now they are gunning for the regional crown and hopefully eventually the state championship. This week they play the only team that they lost to this past season. They seem very confident but it could be a close contest. Their game this past weekend wasn't the one sided afair that they have gotten used to. I think that is good. Facing adversity makes you stronger. If you just steamroll every opponent, you don't learn anything.

Best of luck to them heading into this week.

Friday gave us one top 25 game with #25 Iowa beating unranked Nebraska. It has been a tough year all around for Nebraska. First they had a pretty horrible football season and now their basketball season is closely following suit. My heart goes out to the Cornhusker fans like @gooddream. Maybe next year will be the year!

Saturday gave us fifteen top 25 games. While the biggest upset of the day for me was uranked Michigan State over #4 Purdue, many others would probably point to the #23 Saint Mary's upset of #1 Gonzaga as the best game.

Actually, there were plenty of upsets and fantastic games to go around, so let's start to unpack this.

As I said, MSU took down Purdue in what was a very close contest. The Spartans were looking great and there were points in the game where they were up by double digits. Purdue always fought back though and made a game of it. I was glued to the TV until the very last fraction of a second. It was that intense.

This is a huge win for Michigan State and hopefully they can carry this momentum with them into the remainder of the season.

Another fantastic game I watched this past weekend was the Kentucky/Arkansas game. It was pretty phenomenal. #18 Arkansas served #6 Kentucky the upset victory beating them by two points. In case you haven't been keeping track, that is #1, #4, and #6 that all fell this past weekend. We are just getting started though!

#17 Tennessee took down #3 Auburn by a five point margin. Meanwhile, #10 Baylor beat #5 Kansas by double digits.

In what might be another one of the biggest upsets of the weekend, unranked Colorado handed it to #2 Arizona beating them 79 to 63. Ouch!

So let's recap. That's a sweep of the top six teams, all in one day! Expect a very different lineup in the rankings this week!

Finally, Sunday gave us four top 25 games. The only upset happened in the Big 10 and I have to be honest it was a pretty exciting game to watch. Unranked Maryland had a ton of energy in their 75 to 60 route of #22 Ohio State.

It was also nice to see Michigan lose to #15 Illinois. This was their second game without head coach Juan Howard. I see they beat Rutgers earlier in the week, but since both of those teams aren't ranked, it wasn't really on my radar.

The Big 10 is a hot mess right now. Purdue needed to win the remainder of their games to win the regular season title. Their loss to Michigan State and the win by Illinois keeps the Fighting Illini in the hunt still. Iowa and Purdue could still be in the mix, but I honestly don't know what the rest of the season is going to bring us.

At this point, it is anybodies guess.

The people doing V2K want me to believe it is this lady @battleaxe Investigate what she has been up to for 5 years. Its the next step to stopping this. Make her prove where she has been for 5 years or where she is now. She is involved deeply with @fyrstikken and his group. Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. I cant say she is the one directly doing the v2k. Make her prove it. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Make @battleaxe prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the v2k in me is being broadcasted from her location. @battleaxe what is your location? https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism

No kidding. I didn't quite realize the extent of the damage until just this morning when I was writing up the post. You can definitely tell March is right around the corner!

I love it when the top teams get shook up, what a week this has been. Kansas looked out of their element vs Baylor. I don't know if you know many people from Kansas, but they dont have much to look forward there outside of sports so this was a real heartbreaker for them. A victory could have propelled them into the top 3 given the other results.

I don't know anyone from Kansas, but I have driven through it once I think and I know exactly what you are talking about! Yeah, this past week was nuts. The top six falling over last weekend was totally unexpected. I think we are going to be seeing a heck of a tournament this year!
