Sports betting with Bozz: Back in the game!

IMG_20190329_155940.jpg

This past weekend was another one of those weekends where I actually got to watch very little football. Between heading down to Toledo to watch my niece play softball on Saturday and running over to Wisconsin with my buddy on Sunday/Monday, it didn't leave me a lot of time for some couch surfing.

I did make sure before I headed out of state that I put my bets in for college football and professional football. I knew I wouldn't be able to do anything once I was in Ohio and Wisconsin.

It was a much better week for me than I have had the last couple. I actually won some of my bets and that earned me enough to get back in the game for this coming week.

It would have been nice to see me closer to $250 on my one account, but being back over $200 is something I will gladly welcome.

As you can see, my professional football bets were hit and miss through DraftKings. The first couple of parlays that I did, didn't hit for me. Then I had the 3 pick parlay for +440 and that paid me out $10.80 on a $2 bet. I have started to regulate all my bets to two dollars lately. It might not pay me as much, but it gives me a baseline and helps to keep me from chasing the big win or loss.

I knew I was taking a gamble on that Michigan State/Wisconsin game. The Spartans have been playing horrible lately, but that is the exact reason I put my money behind them this week. Wisconsin has had their fair share of struggles, and since the game was home in East Lansing, I knew Sparty might have a chance. It took two overtimes, but they pulled through for me and my $2 bet earned me $6.50!

See that Florida bet that I put out there? I really had a lot of hope that it was going to work out for me, but unfortunately, Florida State let me down. That Minnesota/Illinois game really didn't go the way I thought it would either.

The rest of the weekend was pretty much a dump as far as DraftKings is considered. You can see the results in the photos above.

As @fullcoverbetting mentioned, you are going to have a lot more losers with parlay bets than you are winners. What you hope for is that at least one of the winners keeps you going into the next week. As you can see here, I had my fair share of losers this past weekend.

Dang you Jalen Hurts for not scoring a single touchdown. You ended up costing me...

Likewise, Kelce, you suck. I guess the Chiefs were playing the Bills, but still. You couldn't score at least two touchdowns? Everything else fell into place. Just not those two things.

Thankfully, the three leg parlay you see above ended up hitting for me. The Giants did their part, as well as the Patriots and the Seahawks. It was a good win. $30 on a $2 is not too bad. I will take that any day to be honest with you.

Unfortunately, that other single game parlay I placed didn't turn out so well.

I thought maybe since I was heading down to Toledo I would place a bet on their football team. It was a home game and I got to see some of the tailgaters and we drove by campus. Although they did their part, there were several other teams in this parlay that did not.

Pitiful!

Alabama screwed me over by losing to Tennessee, but boy what a game it was. Check out some of my previous posts from this week for more info on that. That stand alone bet could have been a nice boost to my kitty.

Not much to see here. Just more losing. I really thought that Michigan/Penn State game was going to go differently. I guess I should have paid a bit more attention. The other parlay was more of a long shot, but I placed it because Central Michigan was part of it and I live just a bit down the road from Central Michigan.

Finally, as you can see my last two best (which were actually my first two bets) from last week really let me down. Oh, sorry, I think I threw that Central Michigan bet in there twice. I tried my hand at some baseball betting and it didn't quite go so well. Judge who has been on fire lately let me down. I am trying another baseball bet tonight. We will see if it works out better for me!

That's all I've got. Wish me luck next week!

Wish you luck lol. never really betted on sporting events unless I aw something really obvious like a draw which is rare. Done that twice before on my only 2 bets ever done when I could not separate the teams. Really difficult as they have extra time in rugby and calling for a draw no matter what is super rare.

I think I bet on a draw for a soccer match one time and won. I didn't even know what I was doing, but it was soccer so I figured draws are pretty common :)

$30 on a $2 bet is fantastic.. I did pretty good taking TN over Bama

Nice! I should have done that, but it was a hard sell for me, it is Bama after all. I'm so glad they lost! I threw down some bets last night on NBA, MLB, and NFL and lost them all :(

Bama barely beat A&M.. TN rolling hard. Number 2 imo.. I think they crush Ohio State.. idk about beating GA though.. I went to bed at like 7:45 to tired to bet on anything 😆

I have a fondness for TN, so I don't mind them having a good year. The next game is what will really matter. Do they keep the energy up after that win or do they rest on their laurels. GA is a great team and will be tough for anyone I think.

UT-Martin? Kentucky? Both easy wins.. and I'm a Kentucky fan. Normally only for basketball but their football team has been growing on me lately

You might think. I am just saying a lot of times after a big win like that teams tend to let it get to their head and then they totally suck in the next game. Kentucky has been building a decent program over the last five years or so.

Looks like you do play quiet some games and parlays. Just wondering how you do group them into the parlays you do play?
Like the flat betting strategy, suits betting parlays very well.

I pick the ones that are already grouped. So I login and it says a bunch of other people are betting on this parlay, do you want to? Then I decided if I do or not. I find that is much easier than trying to create the parlay myself. I still don't understand all of the terms and metrics.

I didn't. I feel like a nerd that dropped the soap in the prison shower after the weekend
