Sports Betting with Bozz:

Thing started off pretty well for me last Thursday night during the NFL football game an then they went downhill really, really quickly. I should have just taken my wins and called it a day, but being in crypto for five years has made me a bit of a degen and I just don't know when to stop apparently!

This is from my DraftKings account. As you can see, I placed a $2 bet on a single game parlay for the Ravens/Bucs game. It ended up paying me $14.50 which isn't too bad. Then, like I said, I got greedy and I placed a couple of other parlay bets that didn't go in my favor.

I think it was Michigan that ultimately screwed me over on the 4 pick parlay and I don't remember who on the other one that caused me heartbreak. At least I only lost $4, so I was still up $10 for the week on this account.

Not great, but not horrible either!

FanDuel didn't go quite as well. It's where the majority of my money is though, so I tend to be a little more cavalier over on that platform. It ultimately ends up coming back to bite me it seems. I'm going to be working backwards on these images, so you will just have to bear with me.

That "each team to score one passing TD during the 1PM game" shouldn't have been a big deal. I mean, you are professionals right? How hard is it to score at least one passing touchdown? Alas, it must be harder than I think because it did not happen.

Honestly, I knew it was a bit of a long shot, hence the $1 bet. The same holds true for the one below it. Expecting three players to score two touchdowns was probably a bit of a pipe dream.

Given past performance, the third bet should have been totally do-able. Yeah, 10 touchdowns is a lot, but between two of the most dynamic QB's, it shouldn't be that much of a stretch. Honestly, looking back, I probably should have skipped that one. I'm an idiot.

These two parlays were definite heart breakers. As you can see, I fell short by just one leg on both of these. With the second one having odd is in the +2059 range, my two dollar bet could have given me a nice payout. Safe to say I am pretty upset about these bets.

The same holds true with these bets. Okay, let's be fair, I knew that Michigan was probably going to win the game, but it felt wrong to bet against my Spartans. I had to give them the chance. They actually looked like the were going to pull through on the parlay too.

Thorne started off strong with an early touchdown to put them in the lead right away. It was absolutely possible that he was going to put up 225.5 passing yards. Then they fell apart. That's a another kick in the gut right there.

I'm also not sure what happened with that Ohio State bet. I think it was Oregon that screwed it up, but I could be wrong.

Just like I put money on Michigan State to pull out the miracle, I did the same with Penn State. It was not to be though. Penn State fell and with it, my dollar bet was lost to the ether.

Honestly all Kentucky had to do was show up and they probably could have covered the spread. They didn't however and they are part of the reason I lost this parlay. That doesn't mean Tennessee isn't a great team. They are definitely #1 in the nation for a reason!

Somehow I accidentally bet on the same parlay twice. I need to pay better attention to that. I basically threw away two dollars on that one and I am not very happy about it. I might need to start placing my bets on my laptop instead of my phone so I can be more careful and meticulous.

Here you can see my Thursday night bet paid off well for me the same way it did over on DraftKings. My $2 bet yielded me $16.40 in winnings. Too bad I blew it all on dumb bets the rest of the weekend.

I'm honestly on the fence right now about whether or not I am going to bet this weekend. I feel like I might need to take a break so I stop making such dumb decisions. Then again, degen bozz might take over and who knows what I will do!

I know that feeling but than from the opposite site. After a winning parlay, I just stop. Having a green day it like heaven on earth.
But when my parlays are lost after the first game, than it is when it get's hard for me to keep disciplined. Just like you I tend to add one or more parlays with higher odds to recuperate some losses. And we know by now that the bookies do love this behavior. In most cases we are just digging the hole deeper!

Yeah, I am down quite a bit from where I was on my one account. I just can't seem to get ahead. I am going to stop at some point here. I almost did this past weekend. I will write about it in my post tomorrow.

Maybe it is a good time, to decrease the number of parlays. Just go back to the basics.
In front of thinking about the parlays, just say I will make x number of Parlays!
Select the bets you want to play and remove the ones who don't feel right (yeah all bets feel right, but you know what I mean). Start filling up the parlays with the bets that remain.
Besides decreasing the number of parlays, maybe also decrease the number of bets in a parlay.

Do you have some stats about the parlays you did play already. x-fold, win, loss, average odds and so on?

I am not sure if the app keeps track of that. I haven't been doing anything on my own to track it no. I had some wins last Thursday and I was going to stop there, but then I got suckered into betting on Saturday and Sunday too...
