The Lady Dragons go 3 -2 in their opening weekend

It won't be long before we get to see the young lady in the photo above back in action on the softball field. I am pretty excited to see what she is able to accomplish this year. Meanwhile, her older sister is already carving her way on the Tiffin University Softball squad.

If you read my post last week, you know that they recently headed down to Tennessee to play in an invitational outside of Nashville.

They started the action on Friday against Gannon University and they came up just short losing 2 to 3. They were able to bounce back though and got a nice 5 to 2 win over Drury University.

Saturday they started the morning with a close 5 to 4 win over McKendree before falling in their second game of the day to Harding with a 2 to 17 loss.

They didn't let that big defeat get to them though and they came back on Sunday to win against Parkside 5 to 2. It was a great weekend of softball for the lady Dragons and I look forward to seeing how they compete through the regular season. The coach is finally starting to make the team her own and I have a good feeling about their potential moving forward.

This weekend they are back in action at the Blue Bridge Battle in Evansville, IN.

They face off against Missouri S&T on Friday as well as Quincy University. Then on Saturday they start the day with a rematch against Drury before facing Notre Dame College (not the one you are thinking of). Finally, on Sunday they have a battle against Michigan's own Ferris State University.

It is yet to be determine if we will be able to watch any of the games via streaming. We were able to watch box scores of the games this past weekend, but there wasn't any live streaming available.

In the games last week my niece actually didn't get a ton of play time because the coach is trying to give some of the freshmen players a chance to prove they deserve a position on the team. If they don't, they will be moved down to the Junior Varsity squad.

I never realized university sports have JV teams, but I guess they do.

At the beginning of March the Dragons take a big road trip down to Florida to play seven days worth of games! They made the trip last year as well and it was a really good time for them. My mother in law and father in law are down in Florida for the winter and they plan on driving over to watch a few of the games.

I wish @mrsbozz and I could make it down to one or two, but it's just not possible. We will have to stay home in the cold and hope they live stream some of the games!

After that, the regular season starts and rivalries start to heat up! I can't wait!
