Wednesday Night Lights

Last night @mrsbozz and I got the chance to drive down to the Flint, Michigan area to watch our nephew play for his middle school football team. You could definitely tell Fall has arrived. As the sun started to go down and the lights of the stadium came on a brisk chill settled in the air. In fact even with our winter coats on, it was still just a bit too cold and we ended up leaving after the third quarter.
Our nephews team had the game well in hand and it was really great to watch him play. I have to say, he is a blocking machine. Which if you know football is no easy task. Think about all the times you see a flag flown in football because a player was "holding". That's a bad block. It's not easy to stop a guy that is trying to run full speed to tackle your quarter back or the guy with the ball.
In fact, our nephew was doing so well that they ended up having him come in on defense as well. The other team was starting to gain some momentum and they were having some good luck with their running game, so they put number 60 in on defense to lock some of that down. Talk about a proud uncle moment!

We also got to see our niece who was being her usual goofy self. We have yet to make it down to watch her play soccer yet, so we are going to have to fix that at some point. We also need to try and get to at least one more of our other nieces volleyball games, but who knows if that will actually happen. The scary thing is we are already getting close to the end of the Fall sports season even though it is only October.
I know I have been talking about baseball a lot lately, but the fact is, it is the playoffs and that is a pretty big deal even if your favorite team isn't in the running. Thankfully, mine still is after a massive 9 to 3 win by the Tigers last night over the Seattle Mariners. This means they had back to Seattle for a decisive game 5 on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Cubs beat the Brewers 4 to 3 to keep their hopes alive. Toronto took care of the Yankees 5 to 2 to move on in the playoffs and dash the Yankees hopes of another pennant. Finally, we have Philly smashing the Dodgers 8 to 2 in LA to also keep their hopes alive.
I have a feeling LA will probably button things up tonight as well as Milwaukee, but I guess you never really know.
As far as Vegas is concerned, LA still has the best odds of winning the World Series. Followed by Toronto, then Milwaukee, Seattle, and finally Detroit down at the bottom with a +750 compared to the Dodgers +200.
Oh ye of little faith!
