Wrapping up the season

Tonight my niece who is in High School plays her last school ball game of the year. It's been a rough season full of ups and downs. They had some big wins that everyone thought they wouldn't get and they had some heart breaking losses.

Last night they played their final tournament game. In the first round they played a team who they ended up run ruling in the fifth or sixth inning. Then last night they got lit up by a team that knocked them out of the playoffs.

Tonight they have to play one more game to determine who is going to be the regular season champ. Just to clarify, it isn't going to be them, but the team they play tonight is tied with another team for the title right now.

They are playing a make up game from one that got postponed earlier in the season. If they win, the other team in the tie takes the title. If they lose, the team they play tonight takes the title.

It can be really easy to focus on how the team did over all this Spring. Like I said, it was a rough year, so I would rather focus on my niece and the accomplishments she has made.

It made it through and that is what is important.

Not only did she make it through, she totally crushed this season.

I was texting with her this morning and she said going into the game tonight her batting average is sitting at .450. That's damn good. If you follow my other posts, you know that .300 is what most major league players strive for throughout the season. Anything over that is just butter on the bread.

At .450 she is absolutely killing it. I couldn't be more proud of her! I think her summer ball team is going to do some really exciting things this year. I can't wait to watch them. You better believe I will be writing about their exploits here!

They have a really good synergy and the players are quite talented, so they have the potential to do some real damage this summer. Their coach even made the comment the other day about how excited he is to see what they can do this year.

That speaks volumes right there!

Fingers crossed they can end the season with a bang. It would be the perfect spring board for my niece heading into summer ball.

Although she doesn't need much motivation as you can tell.

I think beast mode is the only speed she knows!
