Family Fantasy Football League Semifinals: It's all over...

Just like that, my historic(?) run at the family fantasy football league title is up in smoke. I had high hopes for this week. I felt like I had a pretty solid team finally and there was the potential for my team to win. In fact, you can see by the original project it was going to be a close matchup, but I had the slightest edge.

It just wasn't to be.

What is worse, my wife also lost, so once again this will be another year that our family is not sitting at the top of the standings. We still maintain the record of being the only family that hasn't won the championship yet.

Another year of me buying someone else liquor instead of having liquor bought for me.

To say I am devastated would be an understatment.

I'm still on the fence about whether or not I will have the league next year. I know I say that every year, but this time it just feels more real.

However, in the past where I have been bitter about it, this year I am just disappointed.

To be fair, I almost had no reason to be in the playoffs. I spent the majority of the season down at the bottom of the rankings. It was only by absolute luck that I made my way in to the semifinals.

Next week is the championship game and @mrsbozz and I face off against each other for third place. She can have it, I don't even care.

As you look at the numbers, it should become pretty clear that my team let me down. It all started on Thursday when Kittle put up a measly 2.10 points against Tennessee. I guess I should have known given how good the Titans have been this year, but somehow with all the Christmas excitement, I missed it.

Jefferson had a mediocre game (for him) with only 11 points. Usually I wouldn't complain too much about 11 points, but when your other players suck as bad as they did, that 11 points can really make a difference.

Mahomes did fine at QB. 20 points is what I usually look for in that position, so his 22.32, is fine by me.

I'm not even super mad at Johnson because he was at least close to 10 points.

Kirk can suck it, as well as Barkley, and Sanders. What an epic disappointment. Andrews has been one of my best players all season and he did all I expected of him and more this past week. Sadly his 18.5 points was not enough to make it even remotely close.

As you can see, my bench wouldn't even have been able to help me this week. It was just not meant to be I guess. I was on the fence about playing the Cleveland defense versus the Bills. It is pretty clear that playing the Bills was the right option, even if they didn't give me as many points as I had hoped.

I was also on the fence about playing Gordon given the huge numbers he put up against Detroit, but it looks like I made the right call on that one as well. Only 4 receiving yards and -4 rush yards. Ouch!

The good news for all of you is that you don't need to listen to me ramble on about my fantasy team anymore.

Until next year...

Maybe...

Looks like I'm the only one not playing the fantasy game.😁

How do I go about it?
