Plan na pierwszy dzień zwiedzania Wiednia był w dużym stopniu niezależny od naszych preferencji. Prognoza na piątek to przelotne opady przez cały dzień i niestety tym razem się sprawdziła. W związku z tym musieliśmy poszukać miejsc do zwiedzania "pod dachem". Nasz wybór padł na Schloss Belvedere, czyli galerię sztuki w dawnej rezydencji księcia Eugeniusza Sabaudzkiego.

W 1752 roku posiadłość została wykupiona przez cesarzową Marię Teresę, a od 1775 roku z polecenia Józefa II przechowywano tam obrazy należące do rodziny cesarskiej. Od zakończenia pierwszej wojny światowej urządzono w tych budynkach ogólnodostępne muzeum i tak jest po dzień dzisiejszy.

Ciekawa kolekcja prac austriackich artystów, najstarsze pochodzą z początku XIII wieku. Chlubą kolekcji są przede wszystkim pracę Gustava Klimt'a oraz obrazy Claude'a Monet'a. Nie należymy do znawców i fanów malarstwa, ale cała kolekcja zrobiła na nas ogromne wrażenie.

Popołudnie było już mniej deszczowe, więc mogliśmy je spędzić na świeżym powietrzu, szwendając się po uliczkach Wiednia.

[ENG] The plan for the first day of visiting Vienna was largely independent of our preferences. The forecast for Friday is showers throughout the day and unfortunately this time it turned out to be true. Therefore, we had to look for places to visit "under the roof". Our choice fell on Schloss Belvedere, an art gallery in the former residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy.
In 1752, the estate was purchased by Empress Maria Theresa, and from 1775, on the orders of Joseph II, paintings belonging to the imperial family were stored there. Since the end of World War I, a public museum has been organized in these buildings and it remains so to this day.
An interesting collection of works by Austrian artists, the oldest dating back to the beginning of the 13th century. The pride of the collection is primarily the work of Gustav Klimt and the paintings of Claude Monet. We are not experts or fans of painting, but the entire collection made a huge impression on us.
The afternoon was less rainy, so we could spend it outdoors, wandering the streets of Vienna.
