Niedziela to czas na relaks i chwilę odpoczynku. Wybraliśmy się z żoną na spacer po centrum Mons. na początek jednak chwila ze świętą Ritą, bo dziś córka rusza w swoją pierwszą daleką podróż za ocean. Miasto wydało nam się bardzo wyludnione, ale później wyjaśniło się, dlaczego tak jest.

[ENG] Sunday is a time to relax and rest. My wife and I went for a walk around the center of Mons. But first, a moment with Saint Rita, because today my daughter sets off on her first long journey across the ocean. The city seemed very deserted to us, but later it became clear why.

Na Grand Place wrócił napis "I (love) Mons", a w związku z prezydencją Belgii w Unii Europejskiej serce wypełnił symbol flagi europejskiej. To była druga wizyta na tym placu po zakończeniu renowacji fasady ratusza. Za pierwszym razem tego nie zauważyłem, ale wczoraj widziałem wyraźnie odnowioną, jaśniejszą fasadę.

[ENG] The inscription "I (love) Mons" returned to the Grand Place, and in connection with the Belgian presidency of the European Union, the heart was filled with the symbol of the European flag. This was the second visit to this square after the renovation of the town hall facade. I didn't notice it the first time, but yesterday I saw the clearly renovated, brighter facade.

Spacerując po mieście, przekonaliśmy się, jak ważna jest perspektywa. Zwykle spacerując po Rue Notre Dame Débonnaire "wspinaliśmy się" pod górę. Tym razem było inaczej, schodziliśmy tą ulicą w dół, dzięki temu dostrzegliśmy płaskorzeźby na zdobieniach starego domu.

[ENG] Walking around the city, we learned how important perspective is. Usually, when walking along Rue Notre Dame Débonnaire, we "climbed" up the hill. This time it was different, we walked down this street, thanks to which we noticed bas-reliefs on the decorations of the old house.

Na koniec wrócę do tego, gdzie wyparowali wszyscy ludzie z Mons. Żona nabrała ochotę na pizzę, a ja, żeby, spełnić jej życzenie wyszukałem w Google, że jedyna działająca pizzeria jest w Binche. Pojechaliśmy tam. Kiedy tylko zbliżyliśmy się do centrum miasta, stało się jasne, wczoraj zaczął się tam karnawał i wszyscy z Mons wyruszyli na zabawę do Binche. Oznaczało to, że znalezienie miejsca parkingowego w pobliżu centrum graniczyło z cudem. Udało nam się, ale pizzeria okazała się totalną porażką. Żona, kiedy tylko zobaczyła elektryczny piec do pizzy, straciła apetyt.

[ENG] Finally, I will return to where all the people of Mons evaporated. My wife felt like eating pizza, and to fulfill her wish, I found on Google that the only working pizzeria was in Binche. We went there. As soon as we approached the city center it became clear that the carnival had started there yesterday and everyone from Mons had gone to Binche to party. This meant that finding a parking space near the center was almost impossible. We made it, but the pizzeria was a total failure. As soon as my wife saw the electric pizza oven, she lost her appetite.
