Wczoraj przed południem musiałem zająć się domowymi obowiązkami, a kiedy skończyłem i chciałem wyjść na spacer, to lunął deszcz. Sprawdziłem prognozę pogodę na jednej aplikacji, pokazała mi, że do wieczora będzie padało. Dla pewności sprawdziłem na innej, ta pokazała, że za kwadrans przestanie padać. Dałem wiarę tej drugiej prognozie i pojechałem do Spiennes na spacer.

[ENG] Yesterday before noon I had to do household chores, and when I finished and wanted to go for a walk, it was pouring rain. I checked the weather forecast on one application, it showed me that it would rain until the evening. To be sure, I checked on another one, which showed that it would stop raining in fifteen minutes. I believed the second forecast and went to Spiennes for a walk.

Miejscówka, gdzie zwykle parkowałem, była zajęta, pojechałem na parking obok muzeum archeologicznego. Tam było pusto, zaparkowałem i ruszyłem na spacer, ale po chwili nabrałem wątpliwości. Parking jest na uboczu, bałem się, że ktoś może jakieś szkody zrobić. Wróciłem do samochodu i pojechałem do Givry. Tam znalazłem miejsce parkingowe w centrum wsi pod samym kościołem, więc było bezpieczniej.

[ENG] The place where I usually parked was occupied, so I drove to the parking lot next to the archaeological museum. It was empty there, I parked and went for a walk, but after a while I began to have doubts. The parking lot is out of the way, I was afraid that someone might do some damage. I returned to the car and drove to Givry. There I found a parking space in the center of the village, right next to the church, so it was safer.

Ruszyłem na dłuższy spacer przed siebie, ale już po chwili pojawiła się ciemna chmura, która szybko przesuwała się w moją stronę. Nie było możliwości, żeby przed nią uciec, na moje szczęście sprawdziło się powiedzenie "z dużej chmury, mały deszcz", tylko trochę mnie zmoczyło.

[ENG] I started for a longer walk ahead, but after a while a dark cloud appeared and moved quickly towards me. There was no way to escape from it, luckily for me the saying "big cloud, little rain" was true, it only made me a little wet.

Wróciłem do Givry od strony Chapelle Notre-Dame de pitié (Kaplica Matki Bożej Miłosierdzia), klasycystyczna kaplica z XVIII wieku, ze szczytem wystającym z fasady. Szczelnie zamknięta, podobno wewnątrz znajduje się niezwykła XVII wieczna Pieta i kilka innych wotów dziękczynnych. Może, kiedyś będzie okazja zajrzeć do środka. Obok kaplicy jest ogród. Zawsze mnie zastanawiało, co jest za wysokim murem, a wczoraj odkryłem, że to jest ogólnie dostępny ogród i sklep z dekoracjami w dawnym pałacu.

[ENG] I returned to Givry from the Chapelle Notre-Dame de pitié (Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy), an 18th-century classicist chapel with a gable jutting out from the façade. Tightly closed, it is said that inside there is an extraordinary 17th century Pieta and several other thanksgiving votive offerings. Maybe someday there will be a chance to look inside. There is a garden next to the chapel. I have always wondered what is behind the high wall, and yesterday I discovered that it is a publicly accessible garden and decoration shop in a former palace.
