Nareszcie piękna wiosenna pogoda. Pojechaliśmy do Brukseli do córki, chciała, żebym pomógł jej złożyć szafkę na buty. Szybko poszło, szkoda było marnować tak ładny dzień na siedzenie w domu. Córka mieszka blisko parku Cinquantenaire, który jest bardzo chętnie odwiedzany w tak pogodne dni.

[ENG] Finally some nice spring weather. We went to Brussels to visit my daughter, she wanted me to help her assemble her new shoe box from IKEA. It went quickly, it was a shame to waste such a beautiful day sitting at home. My daughter lives near the Cinquantenaire park, which is very popular on sunny days like this.

Po drodze do parku mijaliśmy szkołę La Farandole Et Les Marronniers, na otaczającym ją murze znajdują się rysunki nawołujące do ochrony środowiska w mieście. Bruksela jest zatłoczonym i zakorkowanym miastem, ale można znaleźć wiele zielonych enklaw, z których mieszkańcy chętnie korzystają. W parku Cinquantenaire trudno było znaleźć skrawek wolnego trawnika, o wolnej ławce to można było tylko pomarzyć.

[ENG] On the way to the park, we passed the school La Farandole Et Les Marronniers, with drawings on the wall around it calling for environmental protection in the city. Brussels is a crowded and congested city, but there are many green enclaves that its inhabitants enjoy. In the Cinquantenaire park, it was hard to find an empty patch of grass, and you could only dream of a free bench.

W muzeum motoryzacji Autoworld przygotowywana jest ekspozycja czasowa, z okazji 60-cio lecia powstania Forda Mustanga. Ekspozycja zatytułowana "Ford Mustang 60 Years. Celebrating the Golden Sixties", oficjalnie zostanie otwarta w piątek, a już wczoraj przed muzeum zaprezentowano jeden z eksponatów. Wystawa będzie do końca czerwca, dlatego samochód jest w tęczowych kolarach, nawiązując do Pride Month.

[ENG] Autoworld is preparing a temporary exhibition to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. The exhibition, entitled 'Ford Mustang 60 Years. Boczne uliczki, po których wczoraj chodziliśmy, były zwykle opuszczone, dużo więcej ludzi było w okolicach Parlamentu Europejskiego i parków, które mijaliśmy.

Drugim parkiem, do którego weszliśmy był niewielki Ambiorix Square o kaskadowej budowie terenu ze starannie zadbaną roślinnością oraz dużą ilością pięknych posągów idealnie pasujących do otaczającej park zjawiskowej architektury z przełomu XIX i XX wieku. Park płynnie łączy się z innym parkiem Marie Louise Square, którego staw zasilany jest wodą spływającą kaskadowo z tego pierwszego.

[ENG] The second park we entered was the small Ambiorix Square, which has a cascading terrain with carefully manicured vegetation and many beautiful statues that fit perfectly with the phenomenal turn-of-the-century architecture surrounding the park. The park flows seamlessly into another park, Marie Louise Square, whose pond is fed by water cascading down from the former.

Budynki Parlamentu Europejskiego czekają na nowych posłów, których będziemy wybierać na początku czerwca, o czym informują duże banery reklamowe. Jeżeli ktoś wybiera się w ten weekend do Brukseli, to warto mieć na uwadze, że w sobotę będzie możliwość zwiedzenia budynków Parlamentu Europejskiego, taka okazja zdarza się tylko raz w roku. Zazwyczaj w pierwszą sobotę maja. Promenada przy Europarlamencie nosi nazwę Solidarności o czym informuje stosowna tabliczka.

[ENG] The buildings of the European Parliament are waiting for the new MEPs we will be electing at the beginning of June, as the big banners announce. If you are going to Brussels this weekend, it is worth remembering that on Saturday you will have the opportunity to visit the European Parliament buildings, an opportunity that only comes around once a year. Usually the first Saturday in May. The promenade next to the European Parliament is named after Solidarity, as a sign indicates.

Kolorowe rysunki zdobią betonowy mur wokół muzeum Historii Naturalnej, nigdy nie byłem w środku, może kiedyś będzie okazja.

Ostatnim z parków, które wczoraj odwiedziliśmy był malutki park Jean-Félix Hap, podobno można tam spotkać lisy.

[ENG] The last of the parks we visited yesterday was the tiny Jean-Félix Hap Park. It is said that foxes can be seen there.

Wieczorem po powrocie do Mons wyszedłem pobiegać, po cały dniu byłem zbyt zmęczony, żeby cieszyć się z dobrych wyników. Słabo mi poszło, ale nie poddaję się. Córka zaproponowała, żeby pobiegł z nią na jesieni bieg na dziesięć kilometrów organizowany przez jej uniwersytet, może to będzie dobra motywacja, żeby przyłożyć się do treningów jeszcze bardziej.

[ENG] In the evening, after returning to Mons, I went for a run, but after a full day I was too tired to enjoy a good result. I didn't do well, but I'm not giving up. My daughter has suggested that we run together in a ten-kilometre race organised by her university in the autumn, so maybe that will be a good motivation to train even more.
