W końcu mogliśmy cieszyć się w pełni ciepłym, słonecznym dniem, bez konieczności czekania na kogokolwiek w domu przez cały dzień. Z tej okazji, wracając z fermy, zatrzymaliśmy się na kawę i lody w lodziarni. Z tą lodziarnią jest zabawna historia, bo wielokrotnie przejeżdżając obok, mówiliśmy sobie, że kiedyś powinniśmy spróbować tamtejszych lodów. Żeby było jeszcze zabawniej, mieszkaliśmy pół kilometra od tego miejsca przez prawie cztery lata. Dzisiaj nadszedł odpowiedni moment, żeby się zrelaksować w ogrodzie za lodziarnią. Ma ona w pełni zasłużone, bardzo dobre opinie. Teraz kiedy pierwsze – nomen omen – lody zostały przełamane, z kolejną wizytą pewnie nie będziemy czekać 10 lat.

[ENG] We could finally enjoy a fully warm, sunny day without having to wait at home for anyone all day. On this occasion, on our way back from the farm, we stopped for coffee and ice cream at an ice cream parlor. There's a funny story with this parlor because, many times while driving past, we would say to ourselves that we should try their ice cream someday. To make it even funnier, we lived half a kilometer from this place for almost four years. Today was the right moment to relax in the garden behind the ice cream parlor. It has fully deserved, very good reviews. Now that the ice – nomen omen – has been broken, we probably won't wait 10 years for our next visit.

Po południu wybraliśmy się na dłuższy spacer. Ciekawy byłem postępu prac w parku Waux-Hall, gdzie trwa kompletny remont głównego budynku. Obecnie trwają tam prace wykończeniowe, ale w międzyczasie włodarze miasta poszukują najemcy restauracji, która ma się tam mieścić. Spodziewany czynsz w wysokości 15 tysięcy euro miesięcznie sugeruje, że nie będzie to byle jaka restauracja. Czas pokaże, czy znajdą się chętni na tak drogi lokal.

[ENG] In the afternoon, we went for a longer walk. I was curious about the progress of the work in Waux-Hall park, where the main building is undergoing a complete renovation. Currently, the finishing work is underway, but in the meantime, the city authorities are looking for a tenant for the restaurant that is supposed to be located there. The expected rent of 15,000 euros a month suggests that it won't be just any restaurant. Time will tell if they find someone willing to lease such an expensive location.

Nieco dalej jest Parc de Quartier z niewielkim stawem. Poziom wody w nim dokładnie oddaje, jak duże jest zapotrzebowanie na opady w Belgii. Lustro wody jest około 30 centymetrów poniżej chodnika. Pamiętam, że dwa lata temu woda wylewała się na chodnik, ale od dawna opady są dużo mniejsze niż kilka lat temu.

[ENG] A little further on is the Parc de Quartier with a small pond. Its water level perfectly reflects how much need there is for rainfall in Belgium. The water surface is about 30 centimeters below the pavement. I remember that two years ago, the water would spill onto the pavement, but for a long time now, the rainfall has been much lower than it was a few years ago.
