Wczoraj był długo wyczekiwany dzień pełen wrażeń, a wszystkiemu winna była nasza córka, która niedawno skończyła studia. Wczoraj odbyło się oficjalne uhonorowanie wszystkich absolwentów brukselskiego ULB na Grand Place. Każdy z nich miał swoją chwilę chwały, kiedy jego nazwisko zostało wyczytane przed zgromadzoną publicznością, a następnie mógł pokazać się na balkonie historycznego Hotel de Ville (Ratusza).
ENG] Yesterday was a long-awaited day full of excitement, and it was all thanks to our daughter, who recently graduated from university. Yesterday was the official day to honor all graduates of Brussels' ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) at the Grand Place. Each of them had their moment of glory when their name was read out in front of the assembled public, and they were then able to appear on the balcony of the historic Hôtel de Ville (City Hall).
Podobnie jak setki zgromadzonych rodziców, nas również rozpierała duma, że nasza córka dopięła swego i ukończyła wymarzoną uczelnię, która jest jedną z najlepszych w Belgii. Droga nie była łatwa, ale dzięki jej determinacji i zaangażowaniu stanęła na balkonie Hotel de Ville. W związku z promocją (ukończeniem studiów) nawet sikający chłopiec Manneken Pis został przystrojony odpowiednio. W chwili, kiedy podeszliśmy tam zrobić zdjęcie naszej córce, była też tam wycieczka Azjatów. Córka żartowała, że znajdzie się na ich wszystkich zdjęciach.
ENG] Like hundreds of assembled parents, we were also bursting with pride that our daughter had achieved her goal and graduated from her dream university, which is one of the best in Belgium. The path wasn't easy, but thanks to her determination and commitment, she stood on the balcony of the Hôtel de Ville. In connection with the graduation ceremony, even the Manneken Pis (Peeing Boy) statue was suitably decorated. At the moment we went over to take a picture of our daughter there, a tour group of Asians was also there. Our daughter joked that she would be in all of their photos.
