Dzień w Brukseli. Przed południem żona miała umówioną wizytę lekarską w niesławnej dzielnicy Molenbeek, a skoro już byliśmy w Brukseli, to zaproponowała, żebyśmy pojechali do centrum do jednego sklepu. Wyszukałem parking niedaleko tego sklepu, ale na miejscu okazało się, że chodziło jej o inny sklep tej marki. Ten był za mały, żeby znalazła to, czego szukała. Ten sklep, o którym myślała, był po drugiej stronie centrum miasta, około trzech kilometrów od pierwszego. W związku z tym zaliczyliśmy spacerek po stolicy Belgii.

[ENG] A day in Brussels. Before noon, my wife had a medical appointment in the notorious Molenbeek district, and since we were already in Brussels, she suggested we go downtown to a particular shop. I looked up parking near that store, but once we arrived, it turned out she meant a different store of that brand. This one was too small for her to find what she was looking for. The shop she had in mind was on the other side of the city center, about three kilometers from the first one. Consequently, we took a nice walk around the capital of Belgium.

Przed Katedrą Świętego Michała i Świętej Guduli zaskoczył mnie widok zupełnie ogołoconych drzew, dosłownie ani jednego liścia. Wyglądało to na sprawkę służb miejskich, bo na trawniku też nie było opadłych liści. Posprzątali raz a dobrze.

[ENG] In front of the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, I was surprised by the sight of completely bare trees, literally not a single leaf. It looked like the work of the city services because there were no fallen leaves on the lawn either. They cleaned up once and for all.

Niewielki Parc d'Egmont jest schowany między wysokimi budynkami. Można tam znaleźć między innymi pomnik Piotrusia Pana i królika z tej samej bajki.

[ENG] The small Parc d'Egmont is hidden between tall buildings. Among other things, you can find a statue of Peter Pan and the rabbit from the same story there.

Jak zwykle na Grand Place było wielu turystów. Wbrew temu, co twierdzi Sławomir Mentzen, dorożkarze nie zniknęli. Przynajmniej w Brukseli są i mają się dobrze – stoją i czekają na turystów chętnych zwiedzać miasto w ten sposób.

[ENG] As usual, there were many tourists at the Grand Place. Contrary to what Sławomir Mentzen claims, the carriage drivers have not disappeared. At least in Brussels, they are present and doing well—they stand and wait for tourists willing to explore the city in that manner.
