Chciałem dobrze, a skończyło się nienajlepiej. Powinienem mieć dziś dzień odpoczynku, ale pogoda wyciągnęła mnie na zewnątrz. Pomyślałem, że skoro wczoraj tak dobrze się czułem, to nic nie może pójść nie tak – i głupi pojechałem pobiegać nad kanał. Na dodatek zdecydowałem się zrealizować trening zaplanowany na jutro, czyli interwały: 300 metrów w tempie 5:10 min/km na zmianę z 300 metrami w tempie 5:55 min/km.

[ENG] I meant well, but it didn't end so great. I was supposed to have a rest day today, but the weather lured me outside. I figured that since I felt so good yesterday, nothing could go wrong—so, like a fool, I went for a run by the canal. On top of that, I decided to do the workout scheduled for tomorrow: intervals of 300 meters at 5:10 min/km followed by 300 meters at 5:55 min/km.

Początek był obiecujący; mimo początkowych obaw szło mi całkiem dobrze, a dwa pierwsze powtórzenia wykonałem w tempie lepszym od założonego. Nieszczęście wydarzyło się przy trzecim powtórzeniu. Ścięgno pod lewym kolanem dało o sobie znać przenikliwym bólem i to był koniec „rumakowania”.

[ENG] The start was promising; despite initial concerns, I was doing quite well, and the first two reps were faster than planned. Disaster struck during the third repetition. The tendon under my left knee flared up with a piercing pain, and that was the end of "showing off."

Chwilę pomaszerowałem, po czym spróbowałem wrócić do truchtu, ale nie miałem już zamiaru kontynuować treningu – chciałem się po prostu trochę poruszać. Tempo znacznie spadło, ale na szczęście mogłem biec. Wygląda na to, że do powrotu z urlopu ograniczę bieganie do wolnego truchtu bez forsowania tempa. W międzyczasie „przeproszę się” z siłownią i wzmocnię nogi odpowiednimi ćwiczeniami.

[ENG] I walked for a bit and then tried to jog, but I had no intention of continuing the workout—I just wanted to keep moving a little. My pace dropped significantly, but luckily I was able to run. It looks like until I get back from my vacation, I’ll limit my running to an easy jog without pushing the pace. In the meantime, I’ll "make peace" with the gym and strengthen my legs with some exercises.
