Journal: Sunday 28 December 2025

A tiny London winter landscape, the view from the Corner Bar at Tate Modern.

I walked through the village after Creative Work Hour, checking when the post is collected from the two post boxes in the village, both at the upper end. It's 9am on weekdays, 7am on Saturday. I wonder if there is ever anything in them. I resolved to change that and send letters about the country and beyond that.

I take a turn up Miller's Lane, leading to the Canterbury Road and beyond, the mighty A299 Thanet Way for anyone who wants to escape the area.

Single carriageway, Miller's Lane has a single street lamp at the bend. I go no further than the built up area, even though it is only 5pm or so. At the start is the Royal Exchange, what was a public house, now a fairy tale cottage hidden in trees.

The Postbox at the Royal Exchange, Millers Lane - number CT12 135 Type: Lamp box mounted on a pier.
