Having a robot help would be really dope, don’t you think? That’s a robot that will do the dishes, clean the floors, wash the clothes, and whatnot for me. And when I have kids, the robot will change diapers, give them fresh clothes, and also help them bathe. It would be very refreshing because it would give me time to rest and relax. These chores are not easy at all, and doing them continuously, over time, they simply get tiring.

Because when you look at these things, they’re routines that we’ll always do. We’ll do the dishes every day, we’ll wash clothes regularly, and we’ll sweep our homes every single day. That’s the thing, no matter what, doing these things will always be a constant in our lives. Which is why having a robot to do them would be great. Because then it means the home and everything in it will always be clean.

This will of course, open up a lot of time for me. And what will I use all that extra time to do? I could use it to work more. Focusing more on work so I could increase my earnings. I could also use it to rest. So, basically, all I would be doing each day would be to work, sleep, and eat. On and on, while the robot takes care of all my other mundane tasks.

Work. Sleep. Eat.

But honestly, that can’t be all. If it’s someone who works a 9-5, I could understand the need for a robot. Especially when they go out in the morning and return home at night, and still have to do some chores before they get some little sleep, only to wake up early the next morning. I can understand it when such people crave a robot to help them out. However, for remote workers like me, I see it as the worst thing that can happen to us.

One of the biggest issues of remote working is how sedentary it is. You sit in one spot for hours on end, hunched over your computer as you work day in and day out. On and on it goes. You only leave the house when it’s necessary, and even then, you use vehicles to transport yourself. A typical day in the life of a remote worker can be: wake up, eat, work, rest, work, eat, work, rest. And just like that. With a robot, there will be nothing else to do in the house but work and sleep.

This is a major issue for me because I saw the negative impact being sedentary was having on me, and I knew that I had to step up and do something about it. And chores came to my rescue. Now, several times during the day, I take a break from work to focus on some chores. I do other activities besides working. Doing the dishes, washing the clothes, and sweeping. Basically, giving myself a reason to move around.

Now, it’s not as if I didn’t do these things before I came to this realization. However, I used to either do them all before I start work, or after I’m done with work. And as a result, I could spend nothing less than four hours at a stretch on my laptop. Working away. However, with this, I can stop halfway, and to clear my head, I’ll play music while sweeping the floor. Or doing the dishes. This was also the reason I had to employ trekking. Sometimes, I walk really long distances because I know that I rarely ever walk. There was a time when my smartwatch recorded only 500 steps at the end of a day, showing me just how little I had moved around that day. That’s why I take extra care to do some serious walking as often as I can.

So, what am I saying? In some way, the chores have saved me. And if a robot were to take those chores from me, things would be very different. Am I saying that I’m totally against robot help? Nah! At this stage of my life, I don’t think I need it. Not when I’m still very much active, and I’m being conscious of my body. Whether you like it or not, all that extra time the robot will get you will definitely have to go somewhere. You’ll either spend it working more, or you’ll spend it sleeping more. Unless you use the time to better yourself, that’s the only time it would be worth it.

I don’t know about tomorrow, but for today, I’m not really enthusiastic about robots in the home. My stance may change tomorrow, maybe when I get married and take on more responsibilities. However, for today, I’m pretty okay doing my things myself. Not because there’s a certain joy in washing my clothes myself, or a satisfactory feeling of eating food from a plate I washed. I do it simply because I have to; as a necessity and for my health.

But it’s all good.

Hehe. For the present time I also don't need a robot but in the future our responsibility and take will increase for sure and in that time you may need the robot as a helping hand of you and I believe you will accept it as in that time robot will be normal to everyone.
