It ended draw against Sevilla at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea played goalless draw against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League group stage game 1 at the Stamford Bridge Stadium. It was a difficult game for Chelsea and they could manage only draw in the match. With Thiago Silva and Eduardo Mendy in the game Chelsea goal post and defense was taken care of and it ended a clean sheet if at all there is no chance for winning and both teams split the points.
Chelsea has been able to work on their Defense after signing a good left back that could utilize ball so well Ben Chilwell and also signing one of the best experience defender Thiago Silva, Chelsea Silva,Chelsea conceded a whole lot of goals last season due to defense and goal keeper error but there has been a solution to it when he signed Eduardo Mendy. This was the first match Lampard play a goaless draw since his arrival as Chelsea Manager, it shows how balanced the defense was when the new signing arrived and also if he used them accordingly.
Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma in the centre back is a good combination, though Zouma is not that balanced in the defense and he needed experience defender to put him in place and Thiago is doing that and Zouma also will gain from him. Lampard pairing Zouma and Christiansen has always been disastrous and leads to several mistakes and useless goal. With yesterday match against Sevilla and the match against Crystal Palace Lampard should know that the defenders are capable and he shouldn't make mistake of Lining up player that will bring confusion.
