Pela janela da minha mesa,
Do pouco que posso ver
Menos ainda posso dizer.

A não ser da vela acesa
Que ao meu lado se deforma,
E de si a cera entorna
Escorrendo pela mesa.

Do lado de fora,
Quase nada vejo agora.
A não ser coisa posta,
Milharal, cerca torta.

E o que tem pra lá...
Céu escarlate,
Abacate, maracujá.

Tem passarinho que canta,
Que voa, que faz manha,
Tem planta e tem montanha,
Na montanha a floresta.
Mas só tem o que inda resta
Do todo que se desmata,
Um pouco que pouco presta,
O pouco que não se mata.

Pela janela da minha mesa
Agora não vejo nada,
A janela está fechada.

Então ela se abre,
E do pouco que posso ver
Menos ainda posso dizer.

Só vejo coisas de ninguém
E quando olho pro céu,
Algo como um véu,
Não me deixa ver além.

Além disto que é conhecido
Me pergunto; o que é que tem?

Um dia quem sabe verei.
Agora não vejo nada,
E do pouco que posso ver,
Menos ainda posso dizer.
