Outra concepção acertada que nosso professor de Filosofia nos incutiu e que, embora tenhamos abandonado a prática religiosa, jamais nos abandonou em nossa vida de estudos, foi a valorização dos textos sagrados, enquanto arcabouço máximo e definitivo de nossa cultura.

Nos foi explicado que, quer nos déssemos conta ou não, a quase totalidade da literatura ocidental, tem seus temas baseados em passagens bíblicas, e que cada pequena frase contida na Bíblia teve enorme influência e serviu como matriz para incontáveis desdobramentos literários e artísticos, e continua influenciando até hoje as mais diversas manifestações culturais de nossa civilização.
