My Actifit Report Card: September 1 2021

Some weird dreams made for an iffy night. Back in the army it was - this is what this lack of freedom feels like. I exiled from South Africa in 1987 to grasp freedom. Life is now less free. Went for a bike ride to express that freedom

We can be 5 kms from home if we cross over into an adjacent government area - I needed to walk across the golf course to stay in zone. Of course I did. The first orchid is a small waxlip orchid - still going in this area a few weeks on

Donkey orchid will be along soon - maybe a week

Always good to find a 2nd flower of a species

This track has two grassy sections the waxlip orchid likes - a few flowers in this section

These are just beginning to open.

Walked to the end of the track. View across to where the house is - inside 5 kms from home

A flash of white smaller than a baby fingernail

Caladenia alata - fairy orchid. I had hoped to see these again as they were missing last year - new location.

Close up. I marked up the spot for the couple walking behind me. Stepped up the track to grab a branch for marker - another flower

The petals are the size of a match head each

Headed down the Kalkari track - bearded orchid on the way

Bingo - on the corner where these flowered two years ago was a white fingers orchid. A tree fell over and the chopped up bits were dumped where this orchid flowered then. Caladenia catenata

Walked a long way down the track hoping to see sun orchids - no luck. Went down a side path and saw a flash of white

2nd spot on this walk and neither were where I had seen this orchid before

Fairy orchid - caladenia alata

This little orb spider is about the size of those family orchids.

Disappointed to not find sun orchids. Get to the bike and step into the bush just behind and I see a flash of blue - spotted sun orchid

Thelymitra ixioides

Makes for a 4 orchid find day. Too bad there were no flying ducks.

Took the road back through NP to get home - not in the 5 kms zone but sure to have no people on this route home

Dinner: Chicken drumsticks in airfryer

Trade action: Bought CPLP, WFC. Adjusted QQQ hedges
