My Actifit Report Card: September 20 2021

After another late night the body was not willing. Blue sky was willing. Went out by bike to do the walk I had planned to do at the weekend. Almanac said to look for flying duck orchids and waratahs.

Start with the sun orchid found last time close to my bike park. As I sat down to photograph it, I saw a bearded orchid in flower - orchid a day challenge met.

Calochilus paludosus - new location on this track. Context photo shows how close the bike park is

Found a painted stone close by. It is going to a new track

One more bearded orchid in the same location - 3 plants in all

Walked down Sphinx Walking Track to get to the Sphinx Walking Trail where the flying ducks were last year. Good chance of finding a bearded orchid too. Painted stone got a new home at the track sign

I ignored the left turn and went straight ahead. With day one of the school holidays that track gets super busy.

Found another bearded orchid at the top of the hill pretty well where I saw the first one on this track last year - calochilus paludosus

Another bearded orchid bud which looks different to the others.

View across to Duffys Forest side. Did not find any sign of the flying ducks. Not a skerrick. Time to turn back

This waxflower is normally pink - the difference caught my eye

A few more bearded orchids on the way up the hill

A walk in spring is not a walk without a pea flower

Or a patersonia iris. This one dedicated to my friend Landie wrestling with cancer

As I photographed the pea flower I spied these orchid leaves on the side of the track - greenhoods not seen before

Found a few more bearded orchids on the way up the trail

Walked past the Sphinx memorial and did the cross track back to the trail - not far up was this orchid = first time seeing an orchid in the sheoak forest.

Got back to Bobbin Head Track and walked a huge slice of it (say 2 kms) hoping to find more open bearded orchids - none ready

At the site of the pink sun flower I saw the other day, there was another plant with buds. Looks like they have seeded but there is one bud that has not - it is below the other and no bigger than a match head. Thelymitra carnea.

Ended up as only a 2 orchid day but with quite few new locations. And a small bike ride too with only one arsehole motorist to deal with.

Dinner: Grilled prawns with garlic lemon butter and a bit of bbq meat. Jamie Oliver video to do the butterflying.

Did make a review video on new product to address Google Spam Link slap - watch the video here

If you have WordPress sites running affiliate or sponsored links, this is a must buy tool. https://mclnks.com/linkfixer

Trade action: Replaced DBK.DE assigned at options expiry. Watched the ugly market open and stayed away. Will wait for a better day to write covered calls.
