Golden Donkey Orchids day plus: My Actifit Report Card: October 8 2021
The days are just blurring one into the other. I did say I would ride one hill four days a week. Day broke clear and I got out on the bike to check for flying duck orchids on the other side of my 5 kms range. Then ride down to the water and up the hill. Target one - donkey orchids

Diuris aurea - double header. In previous years there were lots of these - now only half a dozen plants

Long walk to find the next orchid - copper bearded orchid
Right to the end and the view across to Wahroonga. Did not find the flying ducks this year
Red bearded orchid
Calochilus paludosus
A different bearded orchid on the way back - purple bearded orchid
One just opening - calochilus campestris
One more bearded orchid before hitting the main road. Crossed over the other side to walk a path through the thick bush. I have walked it before and never seen an orchid - bingo
A flash of blue and a sun orchid = a new sighting for this track.
It is the bottom flower of four - chance to see over a few days
Front on
Side on. This gives the clues on ID. It is different to any I have seen. Thinking black hood sun orchid - thelymitra aconitrida. To be confirmed. So the side walk had a good outcome despite my misgivings.
I did spy donkey orchids on the way down the hill. I will look for them tomorrow to do the 4th hill. Weekends are busy but less so if I ride the other way around.
Did more clover clearing and planted grass over the holes dug for new deck sail poles.
Dinner: Simple fish and chips and garlic fried green beans
Trade action: Closed out some TLT hedge trades. The game has changed away from ratio spreads for hedging - go full in. Inflation is coming big time. Added naked puts on NM.
