Change Time - Summer Orchids on the Way : My Actifit Report Card: October 30 2021

A slow start to a cloudy day with a southerly change bringing in cold weather. Dithered the morning away but did go out riding to walk a track that has been off limits 3 months.

Hoping to find hyacinth orchids in flower. Dianella is a good start

Lots of these - each flower is smaller than a green pea

First orchid bud for the walk - bonnet orchid with a week to go perhaps. Long walk to the next in one a known spot

Variegated hyacinth orchids - budding - 3 here

And one across the track.

Close up of the bud. The bud will grow to two inches perhaps before it flowers

Buds firming on large tongue orchid - I saw the leaves first

This flower reminds me of a shirt that has not been ironed

Corea just beginning to flower - also a little hairy

Found one more hyacinth orchid on the way back

Close up - less stippling - maybe a rose hyacinth orchid

I noted that I had not seen any evidence of bearded orchids. Well there was one 9 inches from the bike front wheel where I parked.

Was a good walk on a track I have not been on for a while - quiet

Did some garden work - fertilized the front lawn. Planted out some veges. Won a few dollars on horse racing. Did better following a jockey.

Dinner was a home alone dinner. Simple BBQ. My wife went out to friends of hers. Non-vaxxers not allowed = me.
