Summer Leek Orchids : My Actifit Report Card: November 3 2021
The days are just drifting into each other. I am getting really itchy to get on my bike to travel a bit. The brain just does not want to engage on anything. This lockdown is driving me nuts. Went for a ride to find a specific orchid a friend had seen flowering further south
I rode a long way down the fire trail to reduce walking time - hard on a road bike

Did find a variegated hyacinth orchid budding higher up the hill than last time

One a little further on is one I saw last time - maybe two weeks to go to flower
Target two is the bonnet orchids - budding just off the trail
Ready to go. Walked through the bush back to the trail - quite a few plants alongside the water flow
Right on the edge of the trail was one in flower - bonnet orchid higher up the hill than last year
Side on - cryptostylis erecta
Did find a hyacinth orchid budding on this side
One of the names for this orchid is tartan orchid - fits too.
The key mission was to find the summer leek orchid - I had recorded GPS position last time

Close by was this hyacinth orchid budding - a new location
Was worth riding down the fire trail - next time I will do more. Maybe think mountain bike for Christmas. The sealed road ends on the edge of the green. 1.2 kms I did on the dirt.
Did the lawn fix up work I have been putting off and watered the front lawn. It has been dry - need water to get the patch work to grow. No surprise - best way to get rain is to water the lawn
Dinner: Snapper on bbq - pepper/chili marinade
and served with onion/ginger/garlic stir fry
