Hyacinth Orchids Flowering : My Actifit Report Card: November 6 2021

Slow starts are becoming a pattern with late market nights. Clocks shift in US this weekend which means I will need to shift to mornings. It is easier that way as I can trade before a few glasses of wine. Sun was up and my wife was heading out of town for a birthday party. I hit the bike to look for specific orchids

2nd orchid up the hill has just opened - rose hyacinth orchid

Missed the lower location for these but found the colony near the top of the hill - large tongue orchid

Cryptostylis subulata - I did see the spider

Close up photos are rubbish. Keep going to check on hyacinth orchids further up

What was once 4 plants is now zero with buds chomped off. I guess the wallabies walk up from above and chomp off.

There are two more plants still going. I dragged a branch across to make it hard for wallabies to reach. Hope it works

Found one in flower further along - variegated hyacinth orchid

Close up photos were poor - kept this one as there is a spider behind the column. Good news is there were a good 20 plants in the next 50 metres. Stopped further along for a short walk to check one possibility

Nice easy going ride and cool to get 3 orchids in flower plus the fringe lilies

Home alone lunch was a quick tandoori bbq lamb chop plus a little horse racing action from Melbourne Carnival. Did not win overall but got a few winners. I love the maths challenge of working out winners plus the drama of racing

Did a little garden work - also not motivated on this

Dinner - pizza on the bbq as it was a nice evening to be outside
