Blue Mountains Escape : February 4 2022
Escaped to the Blue Mountains for weekend. First time in 8 months we can do that. Got a motel close to Three Sisters.
Walked the track toward Leura to find orchids
Found orchid leaves
Chiloglottis orchids - and some greenhoods
Lots of flowers - yellow
Pink
White
Did find orchids in flower - chiloglottis seminuda
Walked a lot further and found a different chiloglottis orchid - maybe reflexa
Light was poor and hard to focus. I did not check = amateur mistake
Mushroom action
Nice walk on a cold evening. Had a drink or two in local bar - it was deserted. Not normal
Dinner: Chicken drumsticks in airfryer. Yep. We travel with an airfryer. We can cook in a motel room.

It was an important break. I just decided to hell with the rules about vax status and all that stuff. The reality in the small country towns is they have been hit so hard and continue to suffer with no foreign tourists, they cannot afford to apply the rules. So many firsts for the weekend was good for my psyche.
Good you got up and went, all these rules are wearing people to desperation.
Small towns have carried the brunt here as well, staying within KZN there was no problem, only first lock down when no one could hardly go out the front door.
