Banksia Day in Ku-ring Gai Chase NP : March 25 2022
Another grey day with lots of rain forecast. Had a visit from the kookaburra - he hangs around the deck just watching. Did not follow me to enjoy worms I dug out from the compost bin. A few of his mates came along later to enjoy.
King parrot action is always fun - this one will only eat from one spot

A rosette of greenhood leaves close to where I park the bike - might just be a flower spike in the photo I missed
Walked up to the area next to the retirement village - a haven for orchids. Spied leaves on the ground and a flower spike. This one finishing up

The track from here is really a summer orchid zone not an autumn zone - lots of banksia though
A few different forms
Spiky
Fluffy and green
Love the delicacy of the heath flowers
A lot more pink on this one. Flower is only 5 mm across
Rice flower is aptly named
The closest to another orchid in flower - midge orchid seeded.
Somehow the bike activity did not download right - fix tomorrow. 6.6 kms only but I did get out and did not rain.
