Mother's Day Celebration and Late Season Flowerz : May 8 2022
Mother's Day broke to a blue sky. My wife's son is coming over for dinner. I'll be the chef. Lorraine headed off to shops for her favourites - oysters, white fish for fish cakes. The rest is up to me
King parrots are a constant - not every day
Headed out on the bike to walk a quiet track in Ku-ring Gai Chase NP. A few greenhoods popping up where I park the bike

Strident banksia colour
Orb weaver spider right across the track
Been the perfect autumn for mushrooms - lots of rain
A plethora of banksia against the afternoon sun
Three little maids in a row
Spider grevillea
Was not expecting to see a fringe lily flowering so late in the season - two months late
Last gasps of a midge orchid - probably corunastylis fimbriata
Yellow banksia. Steps done. One orchid found and a bike ride in
Back home to stumble through Mother's Day dinner preps. Brain was not in focus. I had plenty of time to prepare three entrees and a main. Our guest arrived early without his partner
Guess the dish time - only need to add rice flour and oil. Think SE Asia

Star of the show were Tasmanian oysters - half done Kilpatrick the others au naturel
Main course - beef fillet in bbq under smoke
Served with potato dauphinois
Turned into a good dinner. Chef enjoyed the wine too - a 2015 Pfeiffer Carlyle Shiraz
