Helmet Orchid Day : May 26 2022
Sun came out. I might go bonkers if this keeps up. Do need to shop. Plan is to go walk a track a friend has suggested for an orchid not seen down this far south and shop after.
Did find the suggested orchid - not the correct ID. Spurred helmet orchid
They have slashed the sides of the track - more orchids gone west.
Close by was a pixie caps orchid - first for the season
This is a green form with only the dorsal sepal stripe showing purple
Acianthus fornicatis
Corybas pruinosus - first time seen this side and well off track

Spurs of the helmet orchid are clear
Small nodding greenhood - ID tip - lateral sepals reach to the edge of the helmet

Spurred helmet orchids were aplenty
Great walk with 5 orchids in flower and only a few leeches. Shopping was less of a success - got to car park - no wallet. Went home and fixed that and went to local centre.
Dinner: Chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce
Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper and smoked paprika - brown.
Cook those with duck fat potatoes in airfryer
Creamy mushroom sauce - mushrooms in butter, chopped garlic and spring onions. Add milk, cream cheese and parmesan.
Finish off chicken in creamy sauce
