Greenhood Day on the Creek : August 15 2022

Sun came out. My wife went off to the office. I set out to do 4 things - got 3 done. Did the investing accounts for last week and most of the blog post. Finished the blog review of Kevin Fahey's new 100K/Year Made Simple product. Headed down the hill by car to look for greenhood orchids

Great still reflections at the marina

No progess on flowering on this creeping plant. I think it is an orchid but I doubt it will flower. There is too much dryness on the stem. I did give the plant some water

Found a few blunt greenhoods open - only one last walk. Great view of the column.

Against the light and low down can just see the column

This becomes a test for ID. Does the labellum have enough twist in it to be curta? If not, this is a rainforest greenhood - pterostlyis hildae.

Found a few remaining nodding greenhoods - pterostlyis nutans

Stopped to take a photo across the creek. A flash of light in one of the big trees caught my eye. Spent a lot of time focused on it - a bit far to be sure.

It was moving and had black back and white front. Pretty sure it is a sea eagle

3 out of 4 things done. No seeds planted for spring vegetables. Might need the nursery to catch up time
