Final Inspection time on Hunter Valley Property : September 23 2022

This was always going to be a big day. Mower man was not able to mow the lawns - got to fit in time to strim the worst of it. Rainy days says that has to wait till tomorrow. Turned to sorting boxes of books indoors - well it was not as easy as that - lots of stuff to prepare to be shredded. This stuff takes forever especially when one is in two minds - what to keep and what to toss

Did get the last of the storage lockers outside tidied up. All clean now and dust and sand cleared away - useful to soak up the wet patches in the driveway. Drove into op shops in town to dump some stuff - happy to take it. Then off to the tip with another load of paper and magazines. Not getting the best value out of the tip vouchers - need to load the car to the gunwales. Final inspection was at 4pm. I met the buyers briefly - lady buyer says thanks for letting them buy my house. They have been looking for 2 years.

I left my wife to handle any questions and walked up to the winery over the road for some wine and music. Last look back over the cellar door.

Well earned glass of wine. The best part was my favourite Hunter Valley singer was playing - Anna Weatherup

She had been a star doing live streaming all through lockdown. My wife joined after inspection. That went well and she was able to keep everything in perspective for the new buyers. They are getting a house fully furnished for no extra cash. Perspective is needed

Wandered down the hill late to visit friends to enquire about tomorrow's AFL grand final. Roses from their driveway

These were only pruned about 6 weeks ago and already flowering

This one is close to finishing its first cycle for the season

We had a few glasses of wine and a lovely chat. Too bad we did not meet two years earlier - we might have made a different retirement choice.

Stay was longer than planned and called for a change of dinner plans - bbq under the stars. Wine choice - Domaine A Pinot Noir from Coal Valley Tasmania - 2000 vintage went well with steak dinner.

Markets opened ugly - stayed away .

Was a big day. Hope it is dry tomorrow so I can do lawns
