Rainbow End to Final Hunter Valley Yard Work : September 24 2022

Rained during the night. Not want I wanted. Was still for a while as first light broke. After yet another late night, I was not ready to move. Then it started to rain again. Made it even harder to move but move I must. I have only half the day to get the lawns and edges tidied up as we are going to watch Aussie Rules grand final with friends. Simplified the day by deciding to take books and some magazines home rather than another trip to the tip

Made breakfast and got out with the strimmer to tidy up the worst parts of the lawn. The couch grass is not growing yet but the invaders are. Spent two hours strimming to make it look like I met the sales contract obligation to mow the lawns.

Back garden looks OK. A few sprinkles of rain but not enough to stop me doing all the edges

Driveway has never looked this muddy in 20 years - year 3 of above average rain.

We did get down to watch the grand final. The game was very one sided and not our side on the good side. Gave up watching and chatted to new owners from half time on. The afternoon off with new friends was a perfect break from the non-stop work over the last 10 weekends

We did get a rainbow. We chose to come home after the end of the Australia - New Zealand rugby match rather than get into an all nighter.

Dinner: BBQ under the stars. My last one of many over 20 years.
