Travelling South into Big Rain : October 12 2022
Was never going to be a steps day. Awake with the alarm and a race to get out the house for the drive to Central Station for my trip towards Victoria
Made it in good time. The train ride for 8 hours follows many roads I have cycled. It became something of a reminiscence of past rides
Moss Vale was where I did the jump off for Sydney to Adelaide in 2014 and also with memories of many other rides in the Southern Highlands
Running down the Hume Highway reminding me of the Bradman Tour (Cootamundra to Bundanoon) and Border to Border 2020
The canola fields between Harden and Cootamundra
The grain silos and grain trains of Cootamundra
Albury - where Border to Border ended and the crossing point of the Murray River for the 2014 Sydney to Adelaide ride down the Murray River
My mate, Collis met me at Wangaratta Station - farewell to the train shows the rain
Major floods are forecast - message from caravan park in Euroa for tomorrow (Oct 13) - likely to be flooded. Feel free to cancel if you wish. I did.
I am north east of the top circle. Plan B - drop south and then back to plan to Yea which is on the edge of the lower circle. Some risk down there too shown by the arks
Had a chatty evening and a good dinner. It is good to know I have a bse ti witk from until we see this weather through
Sorry about photos - not a lot one can do through a train window
