Tongue Orchid Day - One Critically Endangered : January 24 2023
Another tough night. Getting to sleep OK but waking up after a few hours with weird dreams. Brain is pretty scrambled. Not helped by lack of traction on 5 days work on latest IM product launch - why bother? Weekly ritual of writing up investing post does help. It tells me what is working and shows what to stop doing.
Headed out on the bike to look for midge orchids on the local track. They are late. Lots of fringe lilies
Bird noise got my attention. It was hard to get it in frame - honey eater
New growth on the banksia
Purple becomes a solid theme - two up fringe lilies
Three up - thysanotus tuberosus
Narrow leaved hemigenia - better photo than yesterday

Orchid spotting is a game of persistence. I walked this loop track last week in the opposite direction. I focused on the left hand side of the track then. This week I walked the other way. Had I looked right last week, I would have seen this with several flowers
This is a big deal new find on this track. It is a critically endangered orchid - cryptostylis hunteriana. This is my fourth sighting and first for 2023. Nearest was about 800 metres away on a parallel track (off track).
Walked past a puddle in the track - scared this monitor lizard up the tree that had been drinking
Big - about 1.5 metres long
Large tongue orchid - cryptostylis subulata in a new spot. Tongue orchids day
New find for me. Botany Bay weevil - normally found on acacia but this was in the grass
I did not get any midge orchids but the cryptostylis hunteriana was the bonus
Dinner: BBQ as the rain began. Turned into a wet night
Trade action: Re-investing in Europe: Bought DBG1.PA, EVK.DE, HDD.DE, KGX.DE, SESG.PA, POS.L. And in US bought UPS, IWM.

Always enjoy seeing the flowers you find, the lizard was a treat, yes I do add the tag from time to time, never abuse the system. Currently they want the Twitter URL proof dropped in Discord and I do not have time for that.
