Evening bbq at Bobbin Head plus orchids : February 26 2023
Turned into a steamy day with temperatures rocking over 30C. Repotted a few orchids - last flower is gone is time to repot and discover how the growers cheat to get growth and flowers with no care for the long life of the plant. Had a shady spot to do that. Pottered around doing a few other garden things
Went down to National Park late afternoon to have a simple sausage BBQ and a sit. I went for a short walk as I figured I would find wasp orchids in flower
Budding track side
Turtle orchid - chiloglottis seminuda found off track. NP have done a huge amount of track clearing using blowers - have to go off track
Further up the hill was another - structure is a little different - chiloglottis diphylla - common wasp orchid
Goodenia
One more budding
Mushroom - looks like a Bali hut
First signs of the sharp greenhoods in a known spot track side
Found a few more orchid spots off track on the way down. No flowers yet - orange fungi. Nice to find two orchid types open in a short walk
Was just lovely down at the water. Sausages were good. Nice to feel temperatures ease off a little as the sun sank.
